My topic about the f2p community

An interesting read, an unfortunate incident, sounds like the community on Horde side has done a good job of self-managing this. The only thing I would say is that bringing this here and hashing it out here is the antithesis of "helping the community". If the first time I've ever heard of you is you coming to the forums to call out 50% of our community, the general impression I'm going to get is not one of "here's a person contributing in helpful ways to our community".

Sounds like you have a rough road ahead of you to restore your reputation among your peers. I wish you good luck, sir.

I could bring up this "PAAHAHAHAHAHAHA HUNTARDS CRYING :LUL:Z! WTF XD" but ya if you got problems with the community horde side talk to them and shit or gp reroll a cyclops and annoy Aty while im not doing so xD

anyway i havnt read the wall of text (and i wont i just got up xD) and this happened before i returned (I guess) but really? I am not that kind of a person everyone likes but cuz im epic i can stand them (/wink Thirk ;D)

restoring my reputation isnt something i can just do on my own and to all those who are figuring out about this well i have nothing to say what is said is done and what others say is right so thats that on that part
What do you like about it? Elaborate.

because after coming off of regular wow i realized that i wanted to be a dps class that could help others as in protect them without being killed every 2 seconds (just a figure of speech i know the time isnt realistic)

I logged in late last night and saw people already in zangar, too. I shrugged and did something else without complaining, and no one spent an hour flaming me for anything I did. See how that goes?

Hopefully I'll make the next grindfest.

The specifics of what did or didn't happen here aren't important, but let me explain a little something about community in general to you. There are two types, large, impersonal, where not knowing someone is a daily occurence, and then there are the smaller, closed kind where everyone knows everyone else, and the two behave very differently. In the city, you might not even know the people next door, in a small town everyone knows everyone and everything about them. Have a guess which AP more closely resembles.

Now, in a large, faceless group, it might be easier to avoid the inevitable personality conflicts, but in a small, closed community, once you're on the outside of the core clique, you're never getting in, regardless of what you do. Welcome to the wonderful world of community. You chose it. Live with the consequences.

Now, as far as the wall of text goes, assuming that's what happened, once the summon has gone out, the CD is used and it can't be done again immediately after. If you wanted to join the rep grind late, use the dark portal and corpse run to Zang. Alternatively, don't bother. Whining about it later doesn't really do anything to endear yourself to said community, if anything, it just further cements your being on the outside of it.

Ask not what your community can do for you...

and why does this not surprise me nothing i said mentioned the zang thing all i did was ask and what i actually said was "ill join if i can get a port"

and then it all came with the comments which somehow got related to my class.

It could have easily been solved by saying hey man we cant do that the summon is on CD and it started a while ago.

I didnt get that kind response instead i got stupid huntard... and so on

the reason i made this thread is because of the fact of me not being on right when it started and getting an intelligent response back saying that oh by the way its kinda to late

instead i got flamed about my class.

Once again, Kale with the perceptive post that cuts right to the core of the issue. Is anyone else a little weirded out by a guy who self-awarely chooses to avoid community? Regardless, props for being such an articulate solitarian who doesn't take shit from anyone.

Also, @eatshot/jolkio:

No matter what you do or how good you get, you will never escape the word "huntard". This is not an AP thing or a lv 20 thing or anything to do with last night. Anywhere you go in wow, whenever a hunter annoys someone he is being a huntard, when a non-hunter screws up he is just being an idiot:

Don't take it personally, and don't react to it in chat--especially not in a bracket where people have legitimate gripes against the hunter class. You're just asking for people to type out their preloaded anti-hunter rant with you as the focus.

Honestly the huntard part was just one person I believe, don't think anyone else even mentioned it. After all was said and done he came back in the channel, much more chill, and we had a pleasant discussion about illegal drugs and disgusting sexual encounters. So pretty much a day in the life of the AP F2P community chat. Nothing to see here folks, move along =D

Thank you

to reinforce my earlier point in that i didnt know and that seemed to be my point yea i did edge him to keep going

yes my being a hunter can make ppl angry or even being inconsiderate and a hunter for that fact but i was saying that just cause i am not well known doesnt mean i dont want to be an asset to the community

thanks again for sticking up for me

I still have to stick by my earlier statement. If you want to be an asset to the community, then BE an asset to the community. If you want to be an asset to the community, then keep abreast of community activities and community norms. Learn to recognize that coming on the boards, which apparently you had already spoken out against in-game, to call people out for a perceived slight, is not helping the community. It hurts the community. Thinking in terms of "community first" means swallowing a lot of ego.

lmao what's with all the serious replies to this guy? he's clearly like 10 years old; he's not going to understand your long, drawn-out in-depth explanations of "community". when i was that age, i didn't give a shit about that crap either, much less have the capability to understand it

just tell him what to do. that's why adults are there - to tell kids what to do. he's not trying to be a dick, he's just a kid

Pretty much this.

And some ppl need to play huntards. No big deal there.

Otherwise... I understand the reasoning behind setting examples and standards for other (non-TI) individuals that may read these forums. But I assure you that no amount of depth is actually successfully communicated.

Point well taken. However, for myself, I not only write with the OP in mind, but also with anyone else who might be reading in mind as well. If some other person decides to act like a contributing member of the community, even if the OP doesn't, then the community still benefits by the same degree.

Wrong again 20 years old and you are telling me i dont have the capability to understand it

but you are right about one thing im not trying to be a dick

and considering the fact that you think i am a kid well "eh"

No offense kincaide but i usually only read the first half of your posts and just make up something noble to fill in the blanks. I haven't been wrong so far judging from peoples reactions.
