So I started a horde priest this week, and I think I may know why horde have a hard time getting healers. I have some hypotheses about this:
1) Mages are the horde's version of hunters. Typically I have seen mages try to pull for the tank (a famous hunter trick). Unlike hunters, they might often have words for the tank about how awful he is. Also unlike hunters, they don't ninja healer gear because they are allowed to roll on it. I have run dungeons until I am exalted with 2 factions, and I have still to win a cloth drop. And on the slim there is not a mage in the group, there is a warlock or shadow or disc (wtf?) priest. I can see now why so often there are priests with 700-900 health on the horde side.
2) The horde cities are more difficult to navigate. Mostly joking about this one, but it might be part of it. Ok, girls quite often play healers. Unfortunately, girls usually aren't very good at maps. And the maps in wow aren't great because they don't show well if things are on a higher plane, which most of the horde cities are built up and down unlike the alliance cities. Btw, did you know studies have shown girls are better at video games because they commit more?
3) People that play healers don't like people who are racist? This one is the least likely reason I could see. But I have never seen alliance calling one of their race lame or anything like that. Sure some might think gnomes are annoying or that male draeneis are ugly, but no one talks about it. Many horde have a strong distaste for belfs though, and strong enough to use it as an insult when they can't think of anything more clever to say.
Any other theories?
