you might want to try whispering the seller to see if he'll pull the auction for you, hurry though before he realises what it's worth

Shadowfang sold for 3.5G on my server once.
shadowfang for 3 gold and 50 silver. i told the guy i'd take it if it was true and he told me yeah it is. and linked it to me. though i wasn't convinced he really had it, linking could happen from wowhead. he then told me that it was already sold though.
i then told him he was a noob and could have sold it for like 1k and he would still have sold it in the next few minutes. he answered me and i quote "money is not everything in this game" at that point i knew he probably never had any to begin with or that he was a complete ass noob who didn't even knew what it was for sure !
worst i've seen though is not that guy...
i've seen a guy buy a shadowfang for 1.5k gold and disenchant it in front of everybody at the AH then telling AAAAHHHHH TAKE THAT TWINKS !!!

He doesn't have to be a noob to say money isn't every thing, I personally make 1kg per 1 hour of hardcore farming. So of course money isn't an issue.
However people do start to love you..I bought my friend his epic flyer as a present for hitting 80...needless to say, any time I need a certain item from his profession hes more than happy to get it for me.
