My first 19 hunter twink.

Twinkle

Legend
I'm making a twink as a sort of off project and to experience another part of the game, my hunter twinking is coming along nicely but out of all the threads i've read this is the BiS ring:

Ello's Band - Item - World of Warcraft

It says alliance only and sadly i'm horde and see no way to obtain it apart from faction change which isn't possible. Would anyone know another ring that would be suitable?

Thank you :) I appreciate the help

Ezeron

Get his exact gear.

Thank you pizza, i've actually been copying your gear so far :) But can i ask why i'm getting so much hate for being a hunter? Even in game?

Because hunters are obviously overtuned as f*ck; they have way too much utility at 19 (instant 4sec CC, instant gap opener, constant snare) and ridiculous instant damage. Did I mention they have an extremely low skill floor?

As you'll come to find out when you start playing 19 games, you'll soon learn that hunters are definitely not in short supply and are one of the most overpowered classes in the bracket, if not THE most overpowered. Wait until you jump into a game with 5+ hunters on the opposite team, you'll see.

I don't want to be hated :/ It's a new part of the game I'm experiencing and don't want to start out with a bad reputation already, should I just carry on? I've already put a fair amount of effort into my hunter

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter, you're paying your $15 monthly so you can play whatever you want. It's good to have multiple twinks at 19 though, to serve different purposes and help even things out when maybe a certain class is more prevalent in games for the day. Obviously nobody here is going to object to you NOT rolling a hunter in favor of one of the lesser represented classes.

Except maybe Dory. Because some men just want to watch the world burn.

just play your hunter respectably, carry flags. assist team mates focus on getting returns and CCing healers, a good hunter is ALWAYS appreciated. if you want to be unappreciated tunnel warlocks across mid

I'll play it for a while and see how I enjoy it and then I'll probably make another, thanks for your advice guys and by the way Hello, I'm new to twinking and hope to find it as fun as you people ^^.

Saxx is pretty much spot on too. Play your hunter objectively, help the team win and don't worry about topping charts. A lot of new players to twinking I think get caught up in the mindset of what twinks USED to be back in the day; players playing fully geared, overpowered classes and running over noobs, and farming kills. It's no longer like that and nobody will hate you for helping the team and avoiding the urge to kill everything you see in mid.

Ah I don't enjoying playing like that, I'd much rather help the entire team out or defend an FC or go after an EFC in a group, roflstomping everyone I see isn't what I'd enjoy.

Then you might consider rerolling... hunters honestly aren't that great in places with a lot of LoS (*cough* FC/EFCs). That is, it requires a much higher skill level to play a hunter effectively inside a WSG base, etc. You can and will get sodomized by pretty much any respectable melee player if you are in the tunnel and don't use your disengage/scatter extremely effectively, for instance. On the open field, however, you can make it impossible for them to reach you with little effort while you whittle their HP bar to 0%.

The whole stigma about hunters is generated from those who farm mid in WSG or other places. Without any LoS to speak of, and wide, object-less areas, they can really shine. However, at higher level play (see: 85) and thus arenas (LoS havens), they lose much of their faceroll value and you really need to know what you are doing if you choose a hunter (even at 85 PuG battlegrounds they often top the charts, but utility/damage is *moreso* balanced at 85 that they aren't blatantly OP).

To sum it up, there is a tremendous difference between playing a midfield hunter and a flag/objective oriented hunter. It's practically a whole different class in terms of skill required. If you truly are intent on not joining the midfield scrubs, more power to you. But don't expect an easy game when you start chasing down experienced FCs or peeling for your own FC.

Was peering though this thread and ide just like to add that as of now on the beta(might change) hunters don't have concussive shot. It was merged into arcane shot via a glyph that is obtainable @ 25.

edit: Don't go onto wow.com to see the talents, that crap is extremely outdated.

Disc Priest over your hunters anyday!
