My big new to 11s question thread

So after looking at all gear that drops from all the timewalking eras on the dungeon journal, is it feasible to have a set that is all TW pieces without any TBC gear at all? (assuming you were to forego speed gems entirely) I plan on having just enough for speed but it looks like you can get a good set with all TW Pieces over time
basically I am trying to cut down on the amount of days I need to keep JC and Alchy because as it is now, im stuck with them for three weeks straight

When running in TW from my own testing it's simply not worth it to go past 70 strength, and it's better to leave slots completely naked rather than go over; you take more incoming damage, and things take longer to kill. Course using mail gear (of any kind) would be preferable to leaving the slot empty.

57 strength with a lot of secondary stats is simply where you get the fastest kill times, and the best survivability.

There's no way around having two sets if you want to be optimal for both TW and regular dungeons. If you're adamant on having one gear set for both types of content then use TBC socketed plate, but gem and enchant using only secondary stats. This is probably the best you can do with that particular restriction. The alternative is to simply gear for normal content, but take off pieces of gear till you hit the 57 strength mark for TWing content, and this would still technically be one set of gear.

Well it's as Rahn said, you either solo TW with a low strength or go full str and 1shot everything else. Personally I started 11 war for three reasons: 1) fast Freehold to level BfA ench; 2) Expedition runs under 4mins for transmog and mount; 3) comfortable TW tanking (to grind those rep tokens).

I decided to use only some 3-socketed pieces, in case I'd need to gem some speed but honestly even with +10% boot enchantment and War Machine talent it feels totally fine. There's literally only World bosses like Sha of Anger that I can't solo (I did some TW bosses for a gear, it's pretty doable tho by no means optimal in Prot), other than that everything just dies. Crusader is OP and as I found out Jang'thraze the Protector is also pretty darn good for a prot.

And when you see priests use PI on prot. warrior in TW you don't need Details to know that you're pumping.

Not sure if I am having a moment of weakness or what but I am contemplating converting my 11 fury into a 20 once I use level 11 to farm up all the stuff I need, mainly mats, xmogs, and bloodsail rep

If it werent for the bank change with the patch I would just roll another toon, but I have a lot invested into this one

At level 20 you're pretty much forced to switch to protection spec to solo content as a warrior and every level 20 will kill things much slower than their level 11 counterpart. Something that takes 60 seconds at level 11 will probably end up taking around 150 seconds at level 20. (Over twice as long)

Doing a level 11 warrior without lifesteal effectively halves your effectiveness, in both damage and survivability.

If I were forced to play level 11 without lifesteal, I'd probably pick resto druid to do it with. Catform while in resto spec hits very hard at level 11, and you only have enough energy for 3-4 swipes; so that's a good time to throw a heal on yourself and switch back into catform between swipes. This would be more powerful than a fury warrior that only has access to crusader, but it does require you manage shapeshifting between caster and catform frequently.

Runner up choice would be evoker, but those are tricky to get at level 11.

im having decent success with dual crusader, as long as I pull the right size of packs to get enough heal procs it goes pretty well, but lifesteal would be better I agree

I had the largest of revelations while my game client was updating. I am going to play the long game with this character. With all this new shiny bag space, I can use my level 11 to farm mats upon mats (and transmogs!) to hoard until the upcoming expansion. Once Dooby or someone equally awesome updates the F2P guide, then I put all that wealth to good use! The end goal is in fact prot at 20, because the one listed on our armory page switch to fury so someone needs to fill that space!
