MW Monk vs Fury Warrior?

Been boosting some toons to 80 with my twinks. I have been playing around with both. MW seems to have alot faster clear times, but not by much. Was just wondering why Fury warrior seems to way more popular even i feel MW monk has way better dps. Spining crane kick does way more dmg than whirlwind and Rising sun Kick way more than bloodlust. So was wondering why it seems Fury is still more popular?

i have both and enjoy both, but lean to my war because i like warriors. I'm running at about 170% speed the whole time with the talent to increase speed after kill. add charge to that and I'm pretty zippy. Have an infinity wheel on my mouse, so I bound whirlwind to that and let it spin. with life steal, they're about equal to me. Don't think it really matters :p

I have a lvl 10 MW and a lvl 10 Fury warrior and enjoy playing both classes. For me, the biggest difference between them is the MW's ability to heal not only yourself but also your teammates, which can be quite handy. But I spend most of my time on my warrior non the less because I like the playstyle and the speed ;)

They both have their perks.
MW can queue as healer and/or tank, has great clear and excellent single target bust with Rising Sun Kick.
Fury moves a little faster if/when you get a kill, has acces to slightly better enchants and some weapons with great effects to choose from.
It's up to you but I say why not just build both and then you can swap as needed.

In my experience WM at the highest skill level have faster clears due to both good aoe and better single target dmg, and pretty decent movement speed with tiger lust. With the medallion trinket you're pretty safe but you still have to keep an eye on your hp. It fluctuates like blood dk. You also have way more utility when it comes to that, with an aoe stun, basically 2 hp bars with instant heal, and can heal heal all teammates to full with 1 heal. But down side is that you usually can't pull the entire dungeon. With the right feet work you can kill mob packs before moving onto the next pretty well but you can't turn off your brain.

For casual dungeon clears warrior takes the cake for me. You can pull however much you want, and genearlly as long as the boss don't have a cc/disarm ur fine. The hands from magistrate somewhat alliviates disarm problem and I made human so I can cleanse stuns. Medallion comes in as a last resort.

Warrior wins cause way easier/can turn off brain and added bonus of having more gear options due to the fact that there's basically a socket gear for every slot compared to leather.

So after i had the same dilemma, i made both and i can say this...
MW monk = Saitama ( you hit once and everything explodes, you spin around and the world heaves with your torment! and if you are lucky you get a 5 seconds stun that is not dispellable and you die like a peasant...also very squishy especially on some bosses that they give you a 1 hit = 5% hp left but if you play it right with proper kiting etc its fine...it just keeps you on the edge)
BM monk = Mr.Myagi ( if done right aka +4 agi gems and max speed etc...is just safe, u don't deal uber dmg but you still 1 shot most important elites with rising sun kick...like those zul farrak hexers etc... and safe on bosses since ur a tank)
Fury Warrior = Godmode on - Basically u just spin around round round round round and u gonna spin around round ( is just safe and u don't take dmg but you deal average dmg)

Personally I swapped my monk to BM cuz I just got tired of having to deal with the fear of being 1 shot from random bullshits
Working on a priest right now tho and gotta say despite what others said...it feels mediocre to good after u put the right gear on it...but nothing compares to the 2 above...(I just got bored of them tho :D )

I’ve seriously considered bumping my MW monk to 11 for a tad more HP. The queue times as a healer are so much quicker. That alone is enough for me since I’m not carrying any of my toons.

I have a 10 monk and 11 Warrior too.

MW is good because for some reason Blizzard gave MW a boost (20%?) to Spinning Crane Kick some months back. A RSK crit can one shot normal elites. I've thought about boosting Stamina a ton so ToD kicks in sooner. Probably not worht it though.

The beauty of MW is you may be squishier but you have a ton of healing between Expel Harm (instant), Vivify and Soothing Mists. No res, which sucks. No interrupt either. Roll for mobility.

Fury Warrior has mobility out the wazoo. No Heroic Leap sadly but you take the talent for a speed boost when you kill something and you fly. It has an interrupt. You really have to watch damage taken with certain bosses and mechanics though because you have almost no healing other than Lifesteal procs. Victory Rush is your only healing ability.

You can however switch to Prot if needed. There are bosses that are way easier as Prot IME.

Some bosses do suck. The second boss in Gundrak hits my MW monk for like 70% of my health. If I'm not full health I can die so I waste time with self-healing. It's just way easier as Prot Warrior over Fury Warrior too and honestly your damage is just fine still. Prot Warriors have Ignore Pain and a ton of mitigation. Just get an ilvl 60 1h and shield. You can make a macro to switch specs too and use the equipment manager to auto-switch your gear so the switching process is seamless and just takes the ~5 seconds to swap spec.

I'm considering switching out TW gear for TBC/WotLK high-socket gear and SL gems just to compare. I have a 30 Paladin and the SL healing gems basically heals him ~60% of his health every 10 seconds for free. Plus +49% speed.

There are a TON of complaint threads on the Blizzard forums about twinks. IME Blizzard balances the game based on forums outrage, manufactured or real, or (worse yet) Twitter. So we may see TW gear ilvl drop from 56/60 (at 10/11) just like WoD dungeon Warforged gear dropped from 42/56 to 24/29 in TWW prepatch. I wouldn't be surprised.

Farm backup socket gear from TBC/WotLK while it's particularly easy.
