Should I refrain from making polls that promote hatred?

I can't speak for others but I imagine at least a few of the ppl share my view. I can't imagine that anyone has suffered the constant hate in this bracket that I've had since the first day I came back. I just internalize it and let it drive me to beat these people. Just as one of countless examples, let's take lukenukeem and Moran. My encounters with Luke consisted of situations such as me grabbing flag (while my group busy middle fighting because it's only thing they know how to do) and him intercepting me alone. I promptly dropped him like a bad habit and moved along. So imagine my surprise of, having seen this happen many times and having always ended with him having a mouth full of dirt at the end, to see him on horde randomly screaming randomly in raid that I'm worst player in bracket when I had never spoken to or addressed him. He was just one of my many nameless victims. So after that bizzaro universe rant by him, it's a pleasure to me to beat him most of the time in arena - particularly when it's a mirror match. And seeing him and his partners dominating the "best list" and my partner and I considered not best (in my case worst actually), it's that much sweet. Same with Moran - this BM/ feral/war fotm'er (as if playing rdruid at end game wasn't enough evidence) is literally 0-20+ vs me in arenas. He responds by making posts about how terrible I am. So my point is that the hate motivates me to beat these ppl like dogs. And I suspect many on this list feel the same way.

What I think is of much more concern is skill ratio (for exalke) verbally abusing random characters in pugs. Basically if a skill ratio dies (and they always die), 50% of the time they rage about how terrible everyone but them is and then they afk. THAT is the toxicity that hurts the bracket - not hate posts at guys like me that can take it and beat them for it.

My $0.02.

Maybe that is why they hate you. You dont need to say how you've killed him nor does it mean you're better. Also using words like "dropped him" sounds pretty cocky.

Well to be fair I didn't say anything about killing him to anyone until after his random rant in raid (followed by similar rants in other bg's) about how terrible I am. So yes, once they take it there I'm going to embarrass them with the facts and I'm not going to put it nicely at all. But you'll never see me exhibiting that behavior towards anyone that wasn't incredibly ignorant to me beforehand. And unfortunately there are a lot of people in this bracket that were/are incredibly ignorant towards me.

I'm not choosing sides, let me make that clear, but why would 10+ people dislike you for the reason you claim : "Beating them"

I know you're not, and I'll be the first to admit I can be pretty rough on ppl that have done the same to me first. I guess my point is I don't care what they think. They opened their trap and now I'm beating them for it.
I do however care about people not involved's opinion of me which is why im explaining the distinction of me only talking that kind of trash to people that have done it to me first.

I can't tell if you're troll or if you are actually that oblivious.

Oblivious to what? That you people that I beat more often than not think I'm terrible? I'm well aware of that...more aware than you appear to be of the fact that you're losing more often than not to a priest you say is terrible and a warrior you don't think is one of the best.

But if you mean oblivious to the fact that Im actually terrible....the results seem to indicate otherwise. You know, in the normal universe where wins matter, not the bizzaro one most "respected" players in this bracket live in where they just deem people that usually beat them as terrible and pretend it's true. I'll freely admit I'm not as good as once was (getting better daily though), but the average skill level of top talent is so much lower now that I'm still beating people that think they're great.

Anyone who honestly thinks that competitiveness requires negativity has probably never played an actual competitive sport, particularly a team sport. Those of us who have can very easily distinguish dialogue that fosters competitiveness from dialogue that fosters bitterness, division, and spite.

We're not interested in having "most hated" threads on these forums, particularly in naming individuals as opposed to guilds/teams. I consider this to be a blanket personal attack on all the people listed and I don't want people to be forced into the position of defending themselves. If you want to make a thread about guilds that you find most challenging to play against, or even guilds or people that you most enjoy defeating, that's okay. But talking about hatred implies that you're bringing out emotions, that you should have left on the field. One of the first things they teach you not to do, in real sports.

I'm closing this thread but I'm not going to delete it, because I think a few people have made very important arguments against this idea that "competition" has to be petty and spiteful. I'm not giving any warnings or anything, but please class up your game, both on the field and in the forums.
