More rogue buffs

Yeah, I thought as it stands 2 rogues can almost instant gib a fc from stealth. If your not always on your game 2 seconds will be a dead FC. 3 should always be the nail in the coffin. It should make things much more interesting, if you can coordinate properly.

Someone said it was this way on live, I think the damage is higher now, and shadowstep to finish between them is going to change a lot. Not saying its gonna ruin things, just that it should become more interesting.

Personally I dont like the feeling when you cant break a stalemate and lose hope.

I think its a matter of if you can kill the mage quickly enough before he blinks and starts frostbolt spamming ....

he just need to shadowstep and its over...

well, rogues in higher brackets can do this right now (shadowstep, ambush, eviscerate, etc). Believe it or not, my experience is that not many use it to burn down FCs. A good number of rogues just farm for easy kills.

Also, I try to ambush first and save the shadowstep in case I get CCed and the FC gets some distance.

To the OP - most rogues I suspect will play subtlety in CATA in our bracket. So the combat and assassination perks, while nice, will largely be unused as it currently stands.

Yeah but all sub rogues use backstab and envis which were the buffs I originally quoted.

Im going to try assassination first, that looks like fun to me, then il try the other two and see what one i like the most. Im just glad rogues get some nice toys for all specs :)

Sure, as mages are right now rogues will dominate them but with Shatter - Spell - World of Warcraft entering the bracket a mage should be able to take out a significant chunk of HP. A good mage will save nova or blink to use when the rogue shadowsteps, and last time I checked shadowstep does not break CC so you'll have to use a trinket then shadowstep only to be frozen again. I am sure we will have plenty of Mage vs Rogue discussions when cata finally hits.

Note that the 2/2 Shatter spell in cata actually multiplies the crit chance by 3 so a base crit chance of 33% will be a 99% chance to crit. I don't think we'll get quite that high in cata but potential is always there as amount of intellect currently affects spell crit chance

I'll make sure to double sheep you, and then /point and /laugh because it can't be dispelled. ;)

I did a few tests aginst a mage on the PTR recently, now I am not the most geared rogue out there, 1011 health, no AGM, dalrens sacred charge main hand, thief blade off hand, going against a frost mage with about 1500 health. each time ambush would take him down about 50 %, then usually a SS and a white hit before he would predictably frost nova and blink.

use my racial, shadow step, ss and evis, he was almost done, my bow took care of the rest after the second predictable blink. This happened over 10 times. Sheep didnt even come into the equasion because it takes too long to cast. in the middle of a sheep cast shadow step put me behind the mage and sheep requires the target be in front.

Now granted BG's will be a bit different and if I am fighting somebody else a mage has the oppertunity to swoop in and cause some grief, especially if the rogue is chasing after a FC

but 1 on 1 rogue has mage hands down.
