Arena Junkies - World of Warcraft PvP Strategy and Discussion

scroll down a bit and u come to a q & a session from blizzcon

"Q:What happens to brand new players to WoW. Will they be able to see classic content after Cataclysm?

A:Whenever the Cataclysm happens, you will be in the post Cataclysm world. You can't revisit the old content. Pushing the content forward and improving on it."

if i remember correctly, doesnt WC get turned into some tropical paradise?

=/

The Wailing Caverns actually extends some area outside of the cave itself to include the oasis sitting in front of it if memory serves. They could be planning to extend the area of the Oasis some ways out. I do not believe they would want to remove a low level dungeon completely as they do help new players sorta ease into the PvE aspects in the game a little bit.

And lets not forget that they'd be removing a lowbie EZ for horde access 10-20 instance without doing the same for the Alliance.

That's the key. How often does this transformation occur and for how long?

uhm it occurs when the expansion comes out, forever.

Unless they phase Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms.

I seen bits of the Blizzcon stream, they said 100% that EVERYONE even just Vanilla accounts will see all the changes they just won't be able to level up to 85, play the new class combo's/races, new proffesions and paths etc without the expansion.

So anything in the old zones that is changed/removed bar totally new instances you will see also.

tl;dr - They are not phasing shit (as far as i know).

They will phase some things... but the starting point of the phases will be set shortly after the start of the cataclysm rather than basing on vanilla version.

Additionally, phasing will not be applied to most zone changes.

What disappointed me was the Southshore thing... No one was there to defend it WTF? Why some random new island thing for a PvP zone when a region with a long and storied history could have been redone for that purpose?
