MoP: Rogue Weapons?

Well I can't really say anything because I'm using Blackwater Cutlass, Buzz Saw and Combat/Shadow Focus. Hipster all the way.

All this theorycraft - is anyone actually playing combat? How is it working out? I've only done Subtlety since MoP (w/ daggers) but would like to hear from the üdder side.

And - why would anyone take anything but Subterfuge... double ambush is amazing. Am I missing other potentially good combos with different talents?

Subtlety is good for bursty damage (actually Subtlety with Shadowfocus and Swords has the highest burst I can think of for rogues) but I think every spec is viable with any talent atm. I personally tested Sub-Sub and I don't like the results, it makes for good diversion and the damage is good, but I think Combat is more useful for those long-going bgs nowadays as you will probably spend more time unstealthed anyway and in exactly that time Combat > Subtlety because Combat produces the highest possible Eviscerate-crits in a longer fight (>10sec - Sub's Find Weakness-duration) with Revealing Strike and a 5cb-Evis...

And if you go combat, there is absolutely no use for daggers - Sub is good with either (though I personally believe daggers are for Sub and swords are for Combat) and Assa is only useful with daggers

So my conclusion would be: Sub+SF while wielding swords = highest burst - Com+SF/NS/Sub (though I prefer NS for the speed we rogues lost) = highest damage over time+top-end crits in a longer fight

Thanks for the feedback Fuji. Good insights!

sub, boa sword MH scarlet kris/thrash blade OH spec night stalker. thank me later

For max burst, I would go Sub, shadow focus. SF allows you to get to 5 combo points while you still have Master of Subtlety (10% dmg increase) and Find Weakness up. You should even be able to kick and still finish your rotation before the buffs fade. For weapons, dual wicked, dalrends/wicked, dual mcgowan, dalrends/mcgowan, etc. are all viable. There isn't really a definitive BiS, because nobody has done any serious testing and number crunching. In my own personal experience, however, I get the most success out of Dalrends/Wicked or Dalrends/Mcgowan.
