Mongoose or 26 agility for a rogue..

I know, most will say mongoose..but, i've done some personal testing with it and the proc is god awful and 26 agility is a permanent increase to overall DPS without wondering if it will proc or not..comments or calculations on the proc chance itself would be appreciated..

pretty sure if you averaged the up time of mongoose it'd come out to higher agility than +26, and it also gives that small haste boost. its your choice if you want the constant agi buff or wait for the proc...for longer arena fights and pve fights id take mongoose. for short burst fights like in BGs it may not proc when you want/need it but thats the risk/reward you run with procs vs static enchants

check the wowhead page on mongoose to see if they've worked the math out there for average agi of mongoose, im almost sure somebody has since its been out since BC

I have seen your armory link in other post and saw u had 26+ agi on your offhand..

On mainhand i would put Mongoose > Berserking..

But offhand i would say 26+ agi > Mongoose :)

Less proc chance on off-hands. so i wouldnt put procs on offhand :)

With the whole agility/attack power system being changed and leather specialization being added, I think mongoose became superior to berserking even in PvE at level 80. Since level 70 agility per crit is much lower, I think mongoose is definitely better.

Zerk gives 248 more atkpwr than goose per enchant with leather specialization.

Agility gives crit and mongoose also gives haste. I know berserking is more attack power but the theorycrafting on ElitistJerks came to the conclusion mongoose was better when patch 4.0 came.

Mongoose gives 126 agility with leather specialization and berserking only gives 400AP. Berserking is only 148AP higher if mongoose gives 252AP.

double mongoose is always best for rogues it gives them an edge when it procs and unless you have 0 hit it is usually always up + haste is good

Ya I don't know where i got what i did. 296 is the ap difference from dual zerk vs goose. Which is not a small amount.

i have been starting to wonder lately about my rogue with duel mongoose. like if blizz did a stealth nerf on it?

i have the required hit, and even have expertise. i used to get a mongoose proc near the start of a fight and many times duel procs. the duel procs seem to have disappeared and mongoose procs simply don't appear to be cutting it.

like today, i go into a fight (none before it) i premed, SS, Amb, KS, hemo, hemo, evis......other player dies, never got nothing. wasn't till like the 3rd player i was on, did i get a proc.

to sit there and go near 2 fights with nothing has me thinking, maybe i need to pick something else with constant numbers or a better proc.

proc is proc?

Well, I picked up mongoose and it seems to proc a little bit..not nearly as much as Zerking but, still something.

Dual mongoose is pretty stupid in pvp, u need a weapon chain if ur srs bsns.

If you read the thread you would've discovered this is for PvE as I already mentioned a weapon chain for his offhand :(

In that case any rogue knows that mongoose outweighs berserking atm.

On the subject of weapon and enchants, what do you think the best weps for a PvE combat rogue are at the moment?

I'm guessing its Hand of the Deciever/Fang of Kalecgos or dual glaives?]

Thanks in advance,

Atheena.

The KJ weapon with 2 sockets, and then the 154 weapon with 2 sockets, like u said I think. Dual glaives are just more fancy & fun to play with ;)
