MoH gem choice as a healer

Friends,

I'm on an account that hasn't had game time in a long time and don't plan on buying any. I just finished up the engineering grind to get the Ghost Iron Dragonling with cogwheels socketed, so a crazy grind to try to get +2 int +2 vers or +2 int +2 haste gems doesn't sound too appetizing.

In the meantime, unless someone can correct me, it looks my BiS gem options are PvP vendored - +3 int from Brilliant Ornate Ruby or +2 int +2 crit from Potent Ornate Topaz.

I only saw one person on the armory list thread using +3 int gems, and no one used +2 int +2 crit.

Curious to hear your guys thoughts on which would be a better choice, or if it would be nearly negligible in the end.

Primary stats aren't cut down in pvp, so i think +3 Int in pvp is better than 2 int 2 vers. 4 armor 6 stamina gem is even better! In pve it depends what you do.

2i2v is better but not sold for MoH. At the PvP vendor yes your best choice is probably +3 int but I wouldn't hold it against anyone if they wanted to stack a bit of crit as well.

Anything more than 6 tals on a healer is bad and even that is being overly generous. Go full output gems.

Oooooh ok I got it. I screnshotted my stats in the world (left) and inside a bg (right) now

I understand now. Primary stats actually go UP and secondary stats go down.

Still... They don't go down by that much, I think I'd rather have this 20% versatility to survive than more int for bigger heals (this is on a Resto Shaman but I'd say versatility is good everytime specially since the game is bursty as hell).
Maybe If I gemmed only int I'd have more than 200 int in a BG but 0 versa... I honestly don't know if this is a good thing, specially because versa also increases your healing done.

It also seems that some stats gets shaved more than others. Crit has a 20% decrease but mastery don't seen to get shaved by that much.

I had all 2i2v gems, I put in 3 tals, played a couple games, put in 4 tals, played a couple more games, put in 5...look at where i am now.

People define bad too loosely, at the end of the day, if it works for you, then it isn't bad for you.

People define bad too loosely.

Idk, if someone asks for an opinion on optimal builds, defining bad as non-optimal about right. OP seemed to be asking about BiS (available) gems not "I enjoy to play it, and you know what i do just fine anyway" gems.

You know that I do not disagree with your playstyle (Honestly i think if you had a chance to play Docadins "Holy Brawladin" spec it is just about everything that you are looking for from a build and playstyle. But lets make room for conventional wisdom once in a while eh? There will be posts asking about what kind of wierd alt-playstyles are out there, save up ur passion for your build for those posts.
