19 been ran by ally vs horde. Only way to pick the hype is to get shots fired. All competitive ally went horde cause tc prize money makin ppl do crazy things. Imo killing the bracket. Everyone is horde i havent been in a competitive wsg in a month. Im not on a high profile team or popular enough to wargame with the cool kids so i dont see good games. Arena is a jk. I have 3 ppl i arena with and its not even fun cause we steam roll the whole bracket. Talkin pride yall aint bout pride and for the alliance everyone just backed out for a payday. Yall new twinks post some silly/dumb things. My lord and savior Deathstone is looking down right now loling and ashamed to what it has become. 19s are soft now. Real competition and rivalaries what made the bracket now it's this. Its like we tolerated mocha cause he was the special child we adopted. Now he has multiplied. Pointless threads as well.

Coudn't have said it better myself.. the best threads in months haven't been dorys polls, but the drama that surrounded Pizza and him using combat routines at 19/flag assistant bots.

As a twink whose been doing it since the start I've seen every stage of twinking since it began on Argent Dawn back in 2004, the same server were NO MERCY and most of the gods of ruin and pre-wrath twinking dwelled. Ruin took over twinking during that time peroid because of the healthy premade culture that NM promoted, thats what caused the migration to Argent Dawn and Elune back in TBC and that's whats helped inspire me. Real competition is healthy competition. Rivalry and respect are not mutually exclusive and both tend to thrive when coupled together - as well as competition.

Gods of twinking were on AD? As someone who twinked on AD I'm going to say nope. AD was never able to have a PTR match that was competitive against the top teams like CL, MYT, Meat Puppets etc. I know there are more but those are the 3 teams that pretty much controlled 19s for a long time. I premaded with NM and I'll be honest, good group of guys but not top tier, very active and skilled but strategy was not there.

Real competition is currently slacking on what it could be, we have people who just bash newcomers, including some highly skilled players that when asked questions or not BiS are just afk'd out by teams or endlessly ridiculed. I've been apart of that culture in the past but I've taken a step back and tried to help people. TI is a circlejerk and directing people here is not the best.

Rivalries are also slacking, we all know of SR vs. Harvest right now, but that is about it for the big ones. We have a ton of "B" tier teams competing and improving, but these are often filled with players not of said team to compete. We need some hatred in a rivalry every nowandthen. Think OSU vs U of M, Flordia vs FSU, we want some fight. That is what makes good competition, emotion, not mutual respect. Having played sports at a high level even through college emotion changes everything, some people go haywire while others get focused.

Twinking now a days just seems easy compared to what we had to do in the past, have these newer twinks had to discover the world just to be able to quest in a zone in the future? Have you had to plan out your xp for an item ie. Runic Darkblade? How many people playing now have actually every transferred a twink on to the PTR and competed in the PTR battles that put the best of the best against each other? 19s seem active now but what happens when the TC is over? People are going to go back to being inactive/play at max level.

Being proud of playing a twink is great, just don't go pounding on your chest about what you do, cheer for what others have done. I won't be able to compete in the TC due to work but I've been looking into others ways to support it otherthan just throwing money into the pool. Be proud of what HB and Myrm has done for the TC, and especially HB for what he has done to get the activism back into 19s.

Good Luck to the teams competing this year, just remember, emotion is what makes you stronger. Stay level headed and I look to see everyone on the gulch when I'm able again.

If there has to be something in between what is and isn't it may as well be something of substance, this is how I view the community in so many words, I had an urge to write this after i had my afternoon coffee and did it in about an hour. Perhaps some new twinks will gain an enhanced perspective of things here, or perhaps not.

^^^ I think that things have been getting a little too fluffy and friendly lately, and that TI in particular has lost some of its edge. I don't queue 19s / am irrelevant as a player, but people tell me the same is happening ingame.

Popper, memphis and drugs touched upon 19s going a bit soft in other threads and posts - A truly healthy bracket should have something for everyone from the casual noob thru to the hardcore premader. Same goes for the shit talking / vitriol /emo - whenever there is conflict or strong difference of opinion, the views and people browsing this thread skyrocket.

I'm not suggesting that things go back to the bad old days of endless flame wars, but I'd like to see a few more shots fired and some of the threads allowed to run their course a little more.

I'm not really explaining this very well... it's like everyone is liking and agreeing and getting too caught up in the community spirit thing lately. Where are the dissenters? the arguments? the differences of opinion?

Can we have a brawlers guild subforum or something where the shit talking threads can be moved to if the cross the line?
