Midnight First Impressions

On my 11 Fury warr, it indeed takes a bit longer to kill stuff, but I managed to rearrange my existing gems to reach ~30% speed, haste, crit and 24% vers.

On Freehold's Ring of Booty - I kill Trothak in about 2min - but he hits like a truck and I need to be careful (which was not the case before).

I went to your character link and about pooped myself, all your gear is 120 with level 80 stats.

But yeah, they nerfed a lot of stuff. Mechagon, which I farm daily, had the weapon damage from the quest weapon will only do about 1/3 or 1/2 the damage it does. I dont have any problems clearing the quests, but no one hits anymore.

Timewalking got tough. I did my 5 tonight on my 11 fury warrior and I qued as DPS and holy crap am I glad I did.

I hope when midnight goes live and some things move over a bit things will straighten out, cause if not, we have a tough run to figure out what we can actually do.

**edit** I see that the LW gear is 120.

Thanks for posting impressions Rahn and others. Timewalking is brutal right now at any level so I am holding out hope that they remove the normalization to make it decent again. But probably not.
Has anyone tried the new twilight highlands event? Guessing there isn't anything for us since no one has posted about it

Haven't checked out all classes and, to be fair, haven't tested that much overall anyways but the few things I've seen were quite mixed.

More HP relatively to our damage output is great news, idk how PvP is gonna be affected but I sure hope that'll become playable again.
For PvE I personnaly find it much more enjoyable but that's up to personnal preference I suppose and I can see how the now more tedious aspect of grinding can make it a negative. Questing looks to be quite a lot more enjoyable.

Transmog prices are nonsensical and I already miss the ability to transmog several different weapons as standalone xmogs for RP. I'd guess that system will either see a cost reduction for low levels or we'll simply adapt which kinda sucks but we'll manage I'm sure.

Midnight prepatch event... exists... don't care too much, cool tmogs, nice to go to Twilight Highlands it's a beautiful zone.

Class changes are quite weird.
I feel like we're now playing with "simpler" versions of our TWW twinks.
Less spells, said spells have less effects, less synergy. For instance Warrior : Fury feels like it has variations of the same ability with slightly altered cooldowns and damage rolls with your AoE / Enrage being the only standouts (and they're not that interesting at least in my humble opinion).
Arms has a much neater Sweeping Strikes but then what ? No more Deep Wounds, no more MS buff via Overpower. Yeah we get Rend but it feels lackluster especially as MS is now just a big button that interacts with nothing.
And Prot ? It's far from the worst, it's pretty neat actually but still I find it pretty lackluster. Not Picking Devastate feels bad cuz Devastator is so weak, Shield Slam doesn't feel like a main ability as its damage is not that much better than other abilities. The 30% damage buff from that talent I forgot the name of with the 30% of Shield Block does make it a lot better but then you're waiting on Devastator procs for rage/damage (maybe better with Ironfoe, haven't tested yet) and the playstyle gets a lot slower. Execute also went from overkill to wet noodle. But still, despite my complaints the class feels like it has good synergy with its spells and Rend is pretty cool on Prot (a shame we lost Deep Wounds).

Even classes like Shaman, Monk or Druid feel quite weird.
Resto Shammy is still good but I'd complain about the loss of that Healing surge loss with the talent that made Riptide proc a faster cast for Healing Wave. Hard casting feels a lot riskier now. The big HP pool feels nice though.
Enhancement feels clunky AF. The lack of Ice Strike (was it the name ? don't remember it in English sorry), The loss of Lava Burst, 15% proc Windfury and having to talent into both weapon buffs feels terrible. Weapon DPS is cool and the AoE abilities of Enh are a plus but we lost a lot of the fluidity of the spec.

I've heard Cloth wearers are in a good spot. From my limited testing (and general bias against these classes as they don't suit my playstyle) I gotta agree. Priest look quite nice (already miss Renew) and Mage seemed to me fairly well-handled (again, not much experience with mage/lock, sorry if I'm saying dumb shit here). Can you imaghine Ultimate Penitence with TWW Scaling ? Disc woulda been quite a lot of fun against bosses.

Haven't looked that much at DK/Pally but I'm curious about these. How well do you feel like they fare compared to TWW ?

Hunter... What have they done to BM ? My goodness we had so many small synergies, CD reductions on abilities and healing, nice overall balance but now... Oh I'm glad I'm more of a Surv guy when it comes to hunter cuz even then it broke my heart to see poor BM get done like that.
Surv seems to be doing well and I've got no clue what's going on with MM since we "lost" our pets.

DH and Evoker I don't really care about to be honest, hope they haven't butchered them.

And Rogue ? I don't have the guts to test them. I'm pretty sure Outlaw is still fairly functionnaly but I'm so afraid to see what they've done to Assa (and Sub to a degree but to me they killed it in 10.0.7).

So yeah overall I like the new HP scaling, tmog will evolve further I'm sure, classes feel a bit too clunky and unsynergistic and that'd be my first takeway on Midnight at 20.

i lost crusader strike and hammer of wrath on holy pally all of my damage comes from judgement and holy shocks and maybe consecration??? I dont play healers to dps though so its really not a big deal breaker for me
