Making a Priest!

  • Hey guys and gals, i'm making a priest to play alongside madivnar from auchindoun.

Now, at the moment i do have a full Hierloom set. Shoulder, Cloak, Chest, Staff and both trinkets however I'm not keen on using them.

Question being, do a lot of people use them? Is it acceptable or frowned upon and if I choose to use Non Hierlooms, am I going to be at a major disadvantage due to not having any grandfathered gear?

Personally if its only a few missing stats I'll play without but well, thought i'd get some feedback.

    Cheers

Heirloom weapons provide such a large sp boost that you will be gimped playing without them. Other heirlooms you can happily play without as they provide a relatively small stat boost over non heirlooms.

The cloak is the only one I would do without.

The trinkets can be replaced with AGMs.

BoA weapon is a must. As kore said, the 39 spellpower is a huge upgrade compared to staves like [item]twisted chanter staff[/item] and [item]5201[/item]

    Comparing armor items:

    [item]ancient bloodmoon cloak[/item] vs [item]tumultuous cloak[/item] of the Sorcerer (1 stam, -1 int, 2 crit, -2 haste, -32 armor)

    [item]ancient bloodmoon cloak[/item] vs [item]spidersilk drape[/item] (1 stam, -4 hit, 2 crit, 2 haste, -31 armor)

    [item]exquisite sunderseer mantle[/item] vs [item]feline mantle[/item] (1 stam, 3 crit, 5 resil, -3 spi, 6 armor)

    [item]tattered dreadmist mantle[/item] vs [item]feline mantle[/item] (3 stam, 5 crit, -3 spi, 6 armor)

    [item]tattered dreadmist robe[/item] vs [item]anacondra's robe[/item] (3 stam, 1 int, 1 crit, 7 armor)

Almost everyone uses heirlooms because they're BiS.

    As for grandfathered gear:

    Grandfathered: [item]jutebraid gloves[/item]

    Alternatives: [item]serpent gloves[/item] [item]gold-flecked gloves[/item] [item]magefist gloves[/item]

    grandfathered: [item]inferno robe[/item]

    Alternatives: [item]tattered dreadmist robe[/item], [item]anacondra's robe[/item]

Use heirlooms, nothing wrong with them.
