Mage Questions

Hey guys, I just got my mage to 10 and I have a couple quick questions.

1) How are mages at level 10?
2) What is the best spec? I was thinking Frost for the pet freeze, but Arcane gives you another instant cast which is always nice on the move.
3) What professions? I'm doing herbalism for sure, not sure about the second one though.

1) Mage is probably the best class after hunter
2) Yepp yepp go arcane for sure : )
3) Your professions should be herb/skinning. Skinning give you about 18% : )

What is the best talent to get? 1% haste I'm thinking, but Imp CS is also nice vs casters.

fire is also another option. If you stack crit and haste, you can spam pyro, and it would be around a 1.5 sec cast, so try fire out too!

Go imp CS. One of the only silences in the bracket besides Avenger's shield, arcane torrent and Counterspell.

Also, in MoP, mages will have blink at level 7. =P

Level 7 blink will be nice.

Another question: What is a good number for health/mana in this bracket? I'm not done gearing yet, but I have around 460hp and 1060 mana. I feel like my HP should be higher than that.

um id say anything above 850-900 health is good

700 hp unbuffed is good imo for mage.

Yep. Should be. Depending if you go 1H+Furbolg, mining, 100 health to chest or 4 stats, or have all BoAs. And if you faction change, unsure of what faction you are at the moment. Slayer's band obviously gives more stamina than the 1 ring. Also there is a 2/2 belt on ally side for casters that is cloth.

He isn't nearly finished, I still have to get the Voice Amplification Modular and the blue 2/2 cloak.I have gloves with 10 haste to equip, and I also have rings. I still need to get herbalism/skinning to 225.

Get pvp staff, resi is everything.

ehh, resil is not that necessary in the bracket anymore, however the hit from the GSoJ can be useful

?? Since when is resil not useful? 30% dmg reduction isnt useful anymore?

for a low health caster, crit is > resil

for a mage who relies on bursting people to hell

crit > resil

Additional Question:

The last time I twinked was 19 bracket in Burning Crusade, can anyone give me some tips/tricks for success in this bracket? Particularly for a mage, of course, but anything helps.
