I was lead to believe that haste and vers stacking (after int of course) was best for mages but I’ve seen a lot of mages recently that look like there balancing there crit and haste, is this the best way to go or should I continue with pure haste?
 
Up to you. Int/verse are best. After that... Haste means faster arcane missiles. Crit can turn you into a burstier character that can maybe get through targets that are being healed. Generally since verse is king and the main priority, the difference between the other secondaries is pretty small.

It also may just be someone is waiting for aurora/adaptable BG crate pieces and is using whatever they have in the meantime.
 
Crit is 150% in PVP so it should (really) be last on stat prio.
I stacked Int>Vers>Haste and don't even think about crit. Damage first, haste later

While I agree with the priority int > verse > haste...even at 150%, crit has its place for certain classes who use a more bursty playstyle.

Would disagree especially if you are arcane. Missles is never enough to kill good healers, you need to be spamming arcane blasts with 4 AP stacks, hoping a warrior charges or pally stuns the healer of question. Even though it’s 150% damage, it’s still a game changing stat and scales quite well as far as %age from amount. Get 2 back to back crit arcane blasts, your target is in trouble

I mean, healers can never out heal my damage when against missiles so i'm just having a different experience it seems

Lol, a semi geared/half a brain boomkin can regrowth spam and your missles won’t do anything to him. You must be going against some shyt twinks

Maybe that's your experience nuking down 'semi geared/half a brain' players but put your stats in the right place and you'll see big numbers. If you can't nuke down a half geared druid as arcane mage then you're doing something wrong

A Boomie just dots you and then regrowths until you're dead man.
 
Like I said not my experience lol, usually have good enough healers so that doesn't happen
Oh, in BGs? Well, an Arcane Mage with a healer on it is really tough to take down yeah. I was thinking more from the duel perspective.
 
Always keep arcane bombs on hand.
If we're including bombs into the discussion, then the boomie prowls, gets off dots, beltbombs, surges and lunar strikes off empowerment

Prowls... And mage does nothing while you do 2 global cds from dots and casts bomb, and mage wouldn’t blink? A lot of holes in how you think it would pan out. Rest assured, if that arcane bomb lands, and mage has 3-4 Arcane charges, druid should die before getting out of silence.

You dot out of stealth, unless you're a reactive God, the dots will be applied.
How is the Arcane Charges going to be built up to 3-4? Arcane Blast? And what for, Arcane Missiles is still the superior DPS spell even at 4 charges.

And again, Arcane Bomb is even worse against a Mage than a Boomie which still can do a little damage in Cat form or stay defensive in Bear (or use stomp as a cc or shadowmeld to basically dodge if we also include racials) while a Mage does what, run around in circles?

Mage as a whole is a poor choice for 1v1s.
