Looking to make a twink to slaughter EFC

So I played some games in the 29 bracket in passing on my druid, I noticed that the average player (these were pug matches) couldn't do a majority of the jumps.

I'm looking to make an Alliance 29 that will be able to kill a FC druid.

The situation I'm envisioning would be chasing EFC around horde ToT so I think a mele class would be best in this situation (im not sure of hunters killing power @29 when up close even with Corpsemaker)

So, I'm looking for some opinions on making a rogue or a warrior.

also, with speccing a rogue, I know combat is generally the go to spec for swords but could this work. I could see IMP sap being very strong, although to get 3/3 imp sap you could only get 2/3 imp gouge

Roll a 49 arcane 3 min mage.
AP > PoM > Fireball > Fireblast > Arcane Explosion was the craziest burst i ever had. Could delete EFCs no matter how many healers. The uninterruptible Melfs Magic Missiles were hella fun in the down time. Of all the twinks i ever rolled, that was the most enjoyable. Only played balance and ret@29. Both a lot of fun and had good burst. Balance had insect swarm@that point tho which makes a big difference. Im very fond of elemental as well, but cant rly speak for it@29.

I understand that, I have toons in the 19, 39 and 49 bracket tho.
I'm just making a 29 to help out Alliance, they seem to really struggle in 20-29

Imo, you'll probably want to go rogue. If you're going to be keeping up with the jumps then imo rogue has the most utility and damage potential. Any other class will be difficult if you're strictly talking about jumps/druid.

Dagger or sword?

If going Rogue with the goal of sticking on EFC then you'll probably want to run Combat Zealot Blade with Imp Sprint. Since you can go Gnome I would say daggers is still viable (something like 5/10/5) but I wouldn't try a full Ambush spec because if you aren't able to secure the kill in a few seconds you're going to get outed and peeled.

Other than Rogue I would say Ret Paladin is another decent choice for staying on EFC. Obviously your burst potential is limited and you don't have the element of surprise to work with but sometimes all you need is a player who can keep up with EFC and serve as a beacon for the team. I would not recommend Warrior as a solo flag returning force, specially vs a Druid.

Definitely rogue IMO by a country mile. Sap + FAP + sprint + kick + vanish + portable bronze mortar or sapper + thistle tea is incredibly strong and lowish coolown, it puts the need to play well on the EFC. Rogue is the best soloque class for WSG because of that. If you don't kill EFC doing that then respect to them and you lucked out getting against a good EFC that you can learn from.

Ret paladin can be ditched by every class with little to no skill and plan needed. I have not yet figured out how to kill anyone decent who wants to get out of a fight as ret. Maybe lure them in by starting the fight half life

Would Gnome Rogue at 29 with Gnomish Death Ray be considered the best burst if you can get the EFC alone (or CC his guard(s))? If the EFC is too slippery and your sprint is down 29 Gnome could also Rocket Helmet the EFC. If other better trinkets are on cooldown a 29 Gnome can also summon a Level 48 Battle Chicken and/or the Goblin Bomb Dispenser (though I am not 100% if that affects the cooldown of your regular grenades/bombs).

So, no to almost everything you said. You can't get any of the items mentioned besides the Rocket Helm at 29. Still, the Rocket Helm is obviously insane and should be seriously factored in when choosing a race - if Escape Artist wasn't enough, being the only one in the bracket with Rocket Helm should be.

Literally no reason besides looks not to go gnome rogue if sticking alli, escape artist and and helm are huge.

Ah OK thanks. I had assumed with 225+15 racial you meet the 240 requirement but see now you also need to be Gnomish Engineer and can't start the gnomish quest-line until 30+ and may even then need to be actually in the higher rank to craft... That explains why I didn't see any montages ;-)

Glad I asked. The helm is still nice.

Sword rogue with imp. Sprint for sure, even without consumables. Add in smart consumable use and you can really shine.Though honestly I'd say a competent player on a dwarf hunter is a close 2nd...the amount of burst/survivability assuming you have more than 2 braincells makes it the biggest overall threat at 29s imo

I don’t see why everyone would completely rule out warrior. Gnome warrior is one of the best classes at peeling and sticking to a target. Hamstring being one of the only undispellabe slows and no freedom on horde just makes it even better

I think the problem is that Warriors don't have the element of surprise to work from while also having incredibly limited mobility. There are a myriad of spammable ways to snare and slow people, so when you put a Rogue up vs a Warrior in this situation you see that Rogues can have up to 4 Snare breaks while Warriors are stuck with just 2. Add in Stealth and Rogues come out way ahead - DPS is pretty even between the two so all that's really left is Hamstring vs Crip. Hard to quantify but admittedly HS is better.
