Looking to make a P2P w/ F2P restrictions... see inside

OK. I leveled 1 of my 19 locks to 20, stripped my professions and enchanted with F2P enchants. It was ok, but didn't get a ton of support, which IMO is quite needed playing such a squishy class, not to mention that I don't like playing lock anymore. Ever since MOP took away the viability of affliction in PVP at low levels, I have not enjoyed playing my warlocks.

Anyhow...

Since I have all the BoA gear I need and most of the BoE gear I need for a rogue, I was thinking about making a 20 rogue with F2P restrictions. It wouldn't be a true F2P in the fact that I wouldn't have to grind for the gear I need, but I would keep it true to the gear, professions, and enchant restrictions of the F2P players.

I didn't realize true F2P players can't queue as a group without a P2P. That said, I'd like to make this 20 rogue on a server with a community of F2Ps that need a P2P sometimes to help with queues. Somewhere other than AP since they have plenty of help. Faction doesn't matter either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

PS. I have Feet of the Lynx, Ring of Precision, BoA Ring, etc already on the same server. I could roll the toon there and then xfer.
 
If you're horde you can use boa helm because eyepatch, and you should play on Blackwing Lair!
 
If you're interested, PM me your btag, there are a few players who p2p with f2p gear restrictions too. As for servers, BWL horde, Vashj alliance are all that come to mind besides AP on US.
 
As someone who as arguably played on most of the widely popular realms (meaning not just rolled a toon and left, but actually played on the server to the point that people knew me), I would suggest Ursin Alliance. From what I remember of you Drayner, you like a community that's strong in character, people that play consistently AND together (ie: active), but people that are still somewhat skilled.

That really only leaves you two options: BWL Horde or Ursin Alliance. The other realms listed, Vashj, Aerie Peak etc. are all good realms but you won't find that concentration and "family" like atmosphere because they are large, varied in every way and frequently end up becoming a "do your own thing" kinda place if you can't gel. I suggest Ursin because you might find some twink friends you were friends with there from other brackets!

Also, BWL is dope if you want to be Horde, but Horde is kinda boring because you win pretty much all the time.
 
Ursin's cool, I guess, if you're into that sort of thing. But if you're on Ursin, you don't get to play against Ursin.
 
based on what you said.....I would encourage you to pick a server that is not known as "ZOMG F2P". just pick one at random and build your network there. servers known for heavy F2P presence will mob you like Justin Beiber covered in barbecue sauce. lesser known servers will provide a network of "non-l33t" F2Ps who, although geared and skilled, wont spam you with "P2P help" requests. (at least....not as much)

since you are a veteran looking to hang out in this bracket for fun - I assume that the above may ring true. but if you are looking to help out active F2Ps as your fun - the (english speaking) servers that are constantly represented in BGs include AP, Vashj, and Blackwing, (there are a couple others that I am forgetting). the most common latin servers are Quel'Thals, Nemesis, and Gallywix...but those players are mostly RP.

I would encourage you to roll your toon on a random server and network during BG's for a while. when you meet someone cool then transfer there.


p.s. making groups is not playing F2P with P2P restrictions. if you are looking for an F2P experience then don't.
 
There are so many rogues... Drayner what I'd really like to see is for someone to make a level 21 shadow priest with f2p restrictions on gear/profs etc. Far as I know no one's done that yet and personally I'd consider that an f2p-approved character. Really wanna see what they can do. Probably pretty balanced dps.. you'll be able to heal and CC, should be a lot of fun and able to support yourself

You get mind blast and devouring plague at 21, just no fortitude or shadowform. But you can use Grimnur's Bait - Item - World of Warcraft + Disgusting Oozeling - Item - World of Warcraft for what I call ghetto shadow form aka smellform. Roll on Misha alliance so I can live out my dream thru you

With all due respect to you and to Ursin, what you stated above is definitely not true about Vashj. We just had another skilled person tonight who migrated to Vashj from Aerie Peak because what you say has definitely become true of AP (and as the world's most die-hard AP Alliance supporter, it hurts me to have to say that) but Vashj is very much what AP was in its prime. Plus it's a PVP server, so, world PVP stuff.

Vashj isn't looking to become the next AP and I hope that we don't get a lot of people migrating there. I would like to see some community-oriented and skilled people come, though, because that's definitely what Vashj is. I'm pretty famous for being community-oriented and community-building, and there's a reason why I call Vashj home now.
[MENTION=3]Drayner[/MENTION], in the last week or two you have been a frustratingly admirable opponent as you consistently thwarted my FC'ing efforts, and as a former rogue player I respect your skill. If you want to consider coming and checking out Vashj, we'd love to see you.

I remember that you got into the same BG as our BWL premade before on your 21 rogue, was pretty fun.
 
Anyone that makes an effort to make the bracket better deserves to be commended, so nice job!

You might be able to add greater value to a server/community that lacks p2p support or even build up a community on your server. I'm pretty sure bwl is already supported (I grouped queued when there, briefly).

What I know about the add-on would fill a thimble 'cuz I can't use it, so...
 
I am building this rogue now, leveling through XP ON with full enchants. No luck on fishing hat today. 220 tasty fish, not 1 rare... but I did win the fishing contest on my server. :) I actually fished on Misha @Lil --- used my 70 druid over there to phase me. I have ring of precision, feet of the lynx, and 2 doomspikes so far.

I haven't decided if I am going horde or ally, let alone what server but I should be finished and ready to enchant with F2P enchants by this weeked.

That is a great idea, but the idea of this toon is a 20 with F2P restrictions.

I like to have a colour-full bg, with more then hunters and rogues. Im glad the scaling enchants helped out the p2p roll some interesting toons and make em compete with the rogue and huntards.. Having a shammy, lock, mage is nice... Have fun and roll somting interesting.
