Looking for new metal bands to listen to

this encompasses power metal, death metal, symphonic metal, etc. im not looking for nu metal or metalcore, however (slipknot, disturbed, korn, etc). There are a lot of metal bands out there that are good, but theyre impossible to find because there are so many bad ones that come up in your searches X_X

Hello powerglove, i came here beacuse i wanted to make a 39 twink warrior, in return your name came up in a lot of searches... i happened to read this thread and i am so, so, so sorry that you had to listen to anything that anyone posted in response to your thread. That is awful metalcore shit and is ruining the metal scene. Viking metal is pretty paticular... there are a lot of bands that just rip off the same riffs as others as well as some incredible bands. I'm no expert in power metal but ill give you this...

Eh. I'm guessing you haven't heard of, or even listened to the half the stuff I listed... Metalcore it is not.

Perhaps I'm just not understanding the latest greatest labels. What band in my list is considered numetal, metalcore, or deathcore? If my band falls into that category, I'd like to know so that I can update our bio. :)



From my limited knowledge of all things labeled... I've got death metal, thrash, stoner and doom in my list... but I'm also 34yrs old and not "with it" anymore.
