Just wanna direct you to this very detailed post by Yde about the different F2P realms and their communities (however it might be a bit outdated as some of those realms no longer play):

But to sum it up for you, as of 6.0.2 Aerie Peak Horde is probably the most active F2P realm. Anywhere from 10+ players on most times, 24+ during peak hours any day of the week. Lots of P2Ps to group us for premades/wargames/etc.

Alliance side is not quite as active, maybe 10 or so at peak hour.

If you want to get into a bustling F2P community with many veterans who've been playing F2P for ages and enjoy it, please join us on Aerie Peak Horde. :)

You should transfer Nori to blackrock and come gank with me at the ashenvale and northern barrens border. There are so many people to kill

Might be worth rolling on a few servers just to check their activity, but yeah, AP-US Horde is looking very busy at the moment. Alliance seems to have about half as many people on as Horde, but with all the older players who are coming back to the game, a lot of us will have alts on both factions, as AP-US started as an Alliance F2P server.

If you're looking for help from high level P2P chars Horde side, then I myself rolled shaman, mage and warlock, and levelled them first, specifically to help F2Ps, as well as farming for vial of the sands so I've got a passenger mount. I also try and keep an XP locked 15 on my account, so people can random queue dungeons and just get RFC, to farm satchels.

I may have been away from the game for ages, but on seeing that wargames are now working for BGs, I cancelled my subscriptions for both Wildstar and EVE online, and provided the wargames are still working after WoD goes live, I'll be subbing back to WoW (and quite possibly doing something on the addon, guild and forum/wiki/mumble side of things).

I'm not much into achievements myself, (don't ask me to help you get explorer), but other players have been helping groups farm for things like reputation. Most recently I've seen people helping to farm rep for furbolg medicine pouch, and Felix has been helping F2Ps out on timeless isle.

AP Horde - If you like vent :/

Bwl - if you like mumblez :D
People might tell you to go roll BWL, or tell you not to because it's a closed community. The truth is BWL is more of your grad student crowd, so no kids.

Jk, cool/nice/mature people are always welcome (I'm not trying to steer people away), but be warned if you've got a mickey mouse voice you might want to stay off whatever voice chat we're using that month.

I would recommend first checking out AP Horde and Alliance f2pchat. If you can stand looking at it without stabbing your eyes out, it's good place to start. It can be a great place to meet a ton of people—many f2ps have toons there that also have toons on other, more boutiquey, servers—just keep in mind you need to separate the wheat from the chaff because even though there are some great people there, there are a lot of douchetards also.

Horde chat on AP is probably much easier on the eyes, because Felix has a low tolerance for stupid and annoying, and he gets channel mod a lot of the time. Alliance is where people go when they're banned from Horde.

It's been a long time since I've been on AP, so I'm speaking historically. We had to unleash a silverback gorilla on BWL for the same reasons. And I've always wondered that about AP Ally.
