OG
Okay, as some of you may know, I've taken interest to dual boxing from my previous thread. As I've been playing about with them half the day and seem to enjoy them quite abit, I'm thinking of taking them them to the BGs. My orignal idea was to go to level 60, with two mages. I then thought of shamans, due to chain heal and lighting, but having 2 shamans, may not work aswell? I've been thinking, this afternoon, why not 19? I've sat down, and came up with possibly, my final idea, being a warlock, double the dots, nice dps, good survivablity (if got the right gear)? Warlocks are also quite powerful alone, two would be pretty awesome, imo.

Thinking of 3.1, I've came up with 3 different gear sets, (prebc - can't afford too buy 2 of every addon etc)

Balance Set

Helm – Green Tinted Googles

Neck - Voice Amplification Modulator

Shoulders – Talbar Mantle

Back – Engineers Cloak w/ +10 Shadow Resistance or w/ +70 Armour

Chest – Tree Bark Jacket w/ +100hp or w/ +4 Stats

Bracers - Greenweave Bracers of Stamina w/ +9stamina

Gloves - Serpent Gloves w/ +20 Spell Power

Belt - Keller's Girdle

Pants - Darkweave Breeches

Feet - Sanguine Sandals w/ +Minor Speed

Ring – Seal of Syvlanas

Ring - Advisor's Ring

Trinket – Insignia of the Horde

Trinket – Arena Grand Master

Weapon(s) – Night Watch Shortsword w/ +30spell power

Off-Hand - Furbolg Medicine Pouch

Spell Power Set

Helm – Green Tinted Googles

Neck - Voice Amplification Modulator or Thick Bronze Necklace

Shoulders – Reinforced Woolen Shoulders

Back – Battle Healer's Cloak w/ +70armour or +10 Shadow Resistance

Chest – Inferno Robe w/ +150hp or w/ +6 Stats

Bracers - Crystalline Cuffs w/ +15spell power

Gloves - Serpent Gloves w/ +20 Spell/Shadow Power

Belt – Greenweave Sash of Healing (+7sp)

Pants - Shimmering Trousers of Healing (+9sp)

Feet - Spidersilk Boots w/ +Minor Speed

Ring – Bronze Band of Force

Ring - Advisor's Ring

Trinket – Insignia of the Horde

Trinket – Arena Grand Master

Weapon(s) - Witching Stave w/ +30spell power

Stamina Set

Helm – Green Tinted Googles

Neck - Thick Bronze Necklace

Shoulders – Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders

Chest – Bloody Apron w/ +100hp

Bracers - Greenweave Bracers of Stamina (+4stam) w/ +9stamina

Gloves - Pagan Mitts of the Eagle w/ +20 Shadow Damage

Belt – Bright Belt

Pants - Shimmering Trousers of the Eagle

Feet - Nat Pagle's Extreme Anglin' Boots w/ +9stamina & minor speed (if I cba to fish)

Ring – Seal of Syvlanas

Ring – Ring of Blood

Trinket – Insignia of the Horde

Trinket – Arena Grand Masterx2?

Weapon(s) – Night Watch Shortsword w/ +30spell power or w/ +22intellect

Off-Hand - Furbolg Medicine Pouch

I'm thinking more towards the stamina side tbh, 2x nice stamina locks, with the dps of a full sp lock (combined?)

Edit: Yes, I plan to take these to level 19, to dual box

I still don't see the point in playing two accounts at once =/

As long as you're good at it there's no problem. It's when you are just wasting slots in a BG where it begins to be shitty. There was a shammy that 5box'd in a few WSGs I was in a while back. He sucked horribly and we lost each game he was in. He was a complete and total waste of game slots.

Sorry I can't offer advice on gear sets. I know next to nothing on 10-19.

So wait. You're asking advice on the gear sets or the classes or the idea?

Both :)

Like I said, I personally think full stamina set w/ +30sp on weapon & +20shadow on gloves w/ +4stam +5sp on shoulders would be the better gear to go for.

I'd have to agree with you there, Noo. It's going to be a little more difficult to play two locks at once. Might as well get the spell power through enchants and get as much survivability as you can from stam.

Personal opinion is that the diminishing returns of fear might kick in rather quickly. Although it might be nice to have two locks. If you get locked up on one you still can fear with the other. Seems to me though that there might be a lot more to manage with the locks. The instant dots would be nice since the toons would stay in pretty decent sync, but it also seems like there would be a lot to manage with placing dots and fearing. Unless you just plan on shadowbolt spamming.

Both what? I said THREE things?

In it's simplest form, multiboxing allows you to effectively double (or more, depending on how many you use) your damage or healing- key to multiboxing is single-target burn-downs or single target heals.

Imagine being a flag carrier, and having one hunter hit you with arcane shot and serpent sting. Not a huge thing to overcome. But now imagine that damage come at you twice, as the same time. If you lost 1/6 on one, then you'll loose 1/3 with two- and that's a single shot.

That's the point for those who do it.

Definitely seems like it'll be fun Noo :D Multi-boxing has always caught my interest, a lot of people only think of the 4 female orc shaman gladiator guy, but multi-boxing has been around forever. And now, it seems - in the twinking community? :D

One of my favorite cases is this guy - 5 warlord's, 4 mages and a priest iirc

And yes Noo, stam gear with SP enchants would seem to be your best bet, can't wait to hear how it works :D

Were see. I have another project lined up atm. Haha. Decieved got GM of a big prebc raiding Guild on Quel'Thalas, so I need to level up to 60 asap! But I will also do this project in between leveling!

Edit: Though, I plan to sort my locks out first. Get a stamina set (atleast), all enchanted, then work on a 60. Dam so many levels :(

Edit2:

Voice amp neck isnt good for locks. definitely get tbn or the wsg neck
I don't know much about casters, but how is Voice Amplification Modulator useless? :(

This is more of generic multi boxing advice. . . some of the advice might be more geared towards 5 boxing. . .

You will most likely need to rebind all of your char's keys individually using "Character Specific Key Bindings"

Instead of having the usual F2 = 2nd party member.

You might want to bind it to a text macro "/target multibox character 1"

F3 = "/target multibox character 2"

F4 = "/target multibox character 3"

so on and so forth.

This is helpful with dispels, healing a specific char, and changing your main follow target.

Each char should have a different binding for CC's. It's a waste to blow all your earth shocks on 1 spell or all your death coils on 1 char.

Example:

Char 1 should have CC/fear bound to 7

While all other chars should have a DPS key bound to 7 (hopefully with a very similar cast time)

Char 2 should have CC/fear bound to 8

Char 3 should have CC/fear bound to 9

so and and so forth. or you can use shift alt control modifiers for each char
