Level 14 Twink - Guide

How come I didn't hear of you Thirk before you posted the same thread as this over at pwndepot?. Today I noticed this old pic on wowwiki under the lvl 1 twink file where you had the record for most dps at lvl 1, besides a dude with the enti sword. ANyways reading the thread again confirmed that this was you:). Too bad lvl 1 twinks was more or less killed in the recent patch. Me myself have been lvl 1 twinking for over a year! Facing more and more nerfs and changing gear every patch almost. Even turned the diplomat on my lvl 1 days after the nerf. R.I.P Lvl 1 Twinks.



I love your experimenting with other low lvl twinks as well I'm a bit of an experimenting with ratings and shit myself. I've told you to do some recordings of Thirk back when you were lvl 14, but you don't happen to have any footage of your lvl 2 and 5 twinking do you? Even 10-16 is good also. It's just that I almost made a lvl 5 twink out of my old lvl 1 twink who dinged of a bug.



And a little of topic: How do you calculate DPS?. Trying to figure out how much dps I had on my lvl 1 hunter since all of my pictures and footage of it didn't show my dps.

I used to have footage, but I'm pretty sure it's all either deleted or lost.

DPS is just seen by hovering over the damage in your char sheet, I don't know what you mean by calcuating it? And the page on WoWWiki, 90% of it is typed up by me. I have some 14 footage. If I can dig up the level 1 twink footage I'll PM you the videos for sure.

And level 1 twinking is still alive.

You can get 2 AGM's at level 2 if anything to compensate for the leg armor, and stam stacking is still viable as ever.
 
Well, yeah lvl 1 twinking is still around I'm fully aware of that. I'm the GM of what I believe is the biggest lvl 1 twink guild INGAME and I look at my self as one of the best lvl 1 twinks prewotlk and one of the most dedicated lvl 1 twinks in the world (I'm not cocky, I'm confident as Jada would have said) and we still have people twinking after the patch, but I don't feel like fighting with 500hp buffed when the last time I had anything near that was when I had 600 hp + 86% avoidance. There's a big difference. Every nerf has left a big scar in me, but this one teared me apart. Would be lovely to see some footage. After the nerf I in stead lvled my lvl 10 rogue til 19 and kept twinking there, but now I've quit WoW actually. Not due to the patch, but due to the game. What I mean by calculating DPS is that. Aint there a formula that shows your dps. yes I can just hold over the dmg shit, but im not playing anymore therefore that's a little tricky. A formula like DMG-DMG/AtkSpeed = DPS or something. Tried it with my cellphone, but the results must have been incorrect. I'm sure there's a math formula and not something blizzard just invented. DPS also means damage per second which also makes me believe there's a formula, like miles per hour.

Yea I've seen your videos before. I'm pretty sure my twink guild "was" bigger, I had 35 people in it, more than 20 were fully twinked, we did hogger once or twice a week. Are you as dedicated as I was? I had ~10k HK's as a level 1 rampaging around elwynn and redridge, with 18 days /played before I even leveled out to 2 for BGs.

Well I don't know whether which one of us is the most dedicated and note I said one of the most dedicated twinks:D. In total i have 13 days or so spendt at lvl 1, but imo it proves nothing, loads of it might have been afking some people even bot to increase their played time. I never really got to raid for real with my lvl 1 guild, was supposed to set up some real shit raids on gamon, that goblin and the ogre next to him but i was too busy regearing my new lvl 1. We did Gamon and that lvl 18 goblin in x-roads last week as a good bye since both me and my co-twinker, co-gm and friend was quitting. At the most I tihnk we were over 75 twinks in the guild. I never really got to run around and gank since I was too afraid of exp and I could only take 1 more explore without dinging (1st lvl 1 that is) and with my new one I wanted to save the exp for possible new patches like the proffesion patch was an upgrade. But ima go to bed, cya tomorrow i guess. nighty night :D

That's definitely a big number o_O. And Gamon is soloable as a fully twinked level 1, there's no need to group for him. If you're close to leveling from exploration use the explorer trick to discover without XP. Sadly, that trick wasn't available when I was twinking at 1 but it's really useful now.

Ofc, Gamon is easy soloable I guess the goblin in x-roads was/still is easy to solo if it wasn't for the guards and the lvl 38 ogre next to him attacking you. I've soloed Gamon multiple times. But since this was like a good bye thingy we did it being 3-4 people and I like doing things with other people. I would rather upload a guildrun where we killed Gamon than a solo. The reason I played WoW is because of the cooperating part.



The first time I saw the exploration shit was at MMOwned some months ago and at that time it seemed like a much bigger process than it seems to be now. Seems like I've missed a great part of lvl 1 twinking by not ganking in Elwynn and such, I guess I'll try that out if I ever return to WoW even though I look as lvl 1 twinking as dead, but still I don't regret a single thing that I've done with my lvl 1 twinking because it's been such a blast the past year. Well I do regret not getting 15 agi on my sword at the time i had 71% dodge and 16% chance for enemy to miss. Would have put me close to 100% (Yes I was a greedy bastard:( )



EDIT: I love discussing this, but I see that it has nothing to do with the thread. Would love a lvl 1 twink forum somewhere, but lets end this discussion. At least for now.

This was way back when there was nethercleft on legs. Sadly the account is banned now but I'm going to be making a twink in the ruin battlegroup. I haven't played in a very long time, some interesting changes and I hope the Q times are better than last time I played.



Also I see all these people with that new cloak but I can't remember the name. Where do you get it from?



Also another random note, this is probably the best twink I've had. I walked all the way to rfc on this toon to get some items.

Same, I was just thinking about level 9 twinking a while ago, to see if maybe it would be any fun. I doubt it though, (about 9 twinking).

a. 14 is the top of the Arena bracket

b. You can get most of the 19 twink gear at 14.

c. Stat conversions are more "kind" at 14, giving you more for your stats.



I've done my calculations, and if you twink at 14, you're getting a good deal. You get up to 8% more dodge, and more crit, and you lose DPS because 19 twink weapons are indeed superior. More dodge is more survivability, and the crit easily makes up for the DPS loss. Basically, in the long run you get an extra 8% dodge and a bunch of extra crit, and there's a LOT less grinding involved, and a LOT less buying rare items. As well as, in Arenas, you get to have a lot more fun.

10 vs 14 vs 19 Explained further





The difference between 10 and 14 is the gear.



Gear at 10 is far inferior, such as the Agi and AP is far lower and less total damage.

Ex:

Level 10 twink bracers:

[ITEM]Bard's Bracers[/ITEM] of the Monkey

+1 Stamina

+1 Agility

[ITEM]Bard's Bracers[/ITEM] of Agility

+2 Agility



Add 4 Levels, add 2 Stat points.



Level 14 twink bracers:

[ITEM]Bandit Bracers[/ITEM] of the Monkey:

+2 Stamina

+2 Agility

[ITEM]Bandit Bracers[/ITEM] of Agility:

+4 Aglity



Add 5 levels, add 1 stat point.



Level 19 twink bracers:

[ITEM]Wrangler's Wristbands[/ITEM] of the Monkey:

+3 Stamina

+3 Agility

[ITEM]Wrangler's Wristbands[/ITEM] of Agility:

+5 Agility



The difference is extremely minimal in almost all cases of 19 vs 14, so more AP and more crit on top of that AP = More damage than 10.



The above gear comparison is true for Chest, Bracers, Gloves, Leggings, and Waist. All others are either fishing gear or Blues. Head, Feet, Gloves, and Offhand are exactly the same as 19's. Same goes for the trinkets.

You're kidding me right? For the chestpiece, Horde side, [item]Vest of the Hungerer[/item] is so much better than that. Gloves of the fang is not available at level 14. You need to wear something else, a green BoE 2/2 monkey would fit. That belt is NOT AVAILABLE for the game. Try a [item]Murloc Scale Belt[/item] and also, for the alliance get [item] Silver Embossed Boots [/item] the Horde should get a 3/3 footpiece or check silverpine forest for [item] "Bear Hide Boots" [/item] And [item] Light Leather Pants [/item] is so much better - best 2 stat'er for level 14... Horde should roll a goblin and jsut get [item] Thrall's Gift [/item] and the alliance should get a BoE 2/2 green wrist or 3 point wrist.

Also, [item] Oggleflint's Inspirer [/item] is perfect for AP rogues... or Crit rogues.. Thanks.
