there is no cap for battlegrounds stats, you will just get stuck at a point where you cant get any more item lvl at any given level.

Good stuff ^^ It seems I got really lucky and actually got each piece I needed in order until I had it all, including the weapon! I've actually gone back to using the ilvl37 weapon though due to more damage per second. I have no idea if it still works that way in bg's but no harm in just playing it safe

No the shield was mogged in cata, back when it was a bug.

Practically all I am doing is rotating all of my twinks through the invasions for gear. And future twinks I might play for that matter since the gear will be grandfathered. I really do not have time for anything else. It will worth it long term though.
The side effect is I will have a TON of fel bat pup pets.

Feelsbad about leeching/multiboxin such amazing event, but hey, welcome to our world.
