I've maxed out my artifact weapon and I'd figure I'd just throw out some info people might find useful.
While you can collect as much https://www.wowhead.com/currency=3268/infinite-power as you want to upgrade your weapon, once you've fully upgraded everything you need to be level 80 to spend excess infinite power to use https://www.wowhead.com/spell=1245947/limits-unbound to further increase your power. So level 20s won't be experiencing the ability to destroy dungeon bosses in seconds like MoP Remix.
It's not a total loss to keep collecting infinite power though as each one will still increase your stamina regardless.
https://www.wowhead.com/item=245925/artifactium-sand is used to upgrade the ilvl of your weapon, but there seems to be cap of how many you can get. (Currently at ilvl 95)
As far as the artifact powers go https://www.wowhead.com/spell=1233775/narans-everdisc does the most damage by far, but it does require you to bounce at least once, otherwise the other abilities do match it in power roughly.
The gear system is a little similar to MoP in that your neck/rings/trinkets will have a random artifact ability on them. So you can mix and match how you want your character to play out.
As for collecting https://www.wowhead.com/currency=3372/bronze for the transmogs / toys / pets / mounts you are given tasks to do. You can complete a max of 12, and it seems 4 will reset every day.
The tasks range from gathering, completing quests, killing things, and completing dungeons. You're given a choice of what to do from 4 options, and typically don't take too long to do.
The class hall stuff is somewhat amusing as all of the recruiting and waiting on missions is 'skipped'. You'll complete the quests and get the followers, but you won't have to go through any of the waiting; it will just complete the quests for you.
The dungeons you have access to are as follows:
This is a strict list as far as I can tell, as while you can enter Violet Hold as a level 20 in retail, in Timerunning it will tell you that you need to be level 25 to enter.
The raids that are available:
This will probably expand as the event goes on?
Level requirements do exist for the various parts of the story.
This button might show up on the UI when selecting a Timerunning character.
I tried using it on a level 10, gave a warning; but ultimately it did not work. So any low level class / race combo will probably have to wait till the event is over to get it converted into retail.
And that's all the stuff off the top of my head. Overall the experience is interesting, but so far it's more or less a toned down version of what MoP Remix was. There certainly feels less pressure to grind out the bronze needed to get everything, and part of that is due to a chunk of things being timegated till later into the event. The level 80 requirement to keep on growing in strength also puts less pressure to grind away, since you don't get any additional power for doing so.
