While I understand both sides to this argument, dedication deserves to be rewarded but not to the point that it is overwhelming to the bracket. Overwhelming in this case may be around gfed twinks having lets say more than 25-30% more stats than a current new BiS twink. I haven't been able to test the latest twinks since 8.0 because of the honor level BS, but fel gear being ilvl 35 and reg gear being around ilvl 32 is not an insane amount of stats greater. Play style is almost everything, as a player who never has the time to farm full BiS gear, I have never played an expac that GFed twinks greatly dominated current twinks.
I would say class/spec has more to contribute than gfed gear for pure OPness, and again playstyle is prob about 85% of the OPness of twinks.
