Wicked Dagger - Item - World of Warcraft for speed. you will hit faster then with sword between shield slams.

are you talking about stance dancing between shield slams to generate extra rage? if so the rage per swing is proportional to wep speed and you benefit more from a slow wep because the first attack is instant

and besides using a dagger just gimps heroic strike anyway, no reason to use one unless for stats when youre fcing

Nah meant dmg with auto attacks. felt like doin more with dagger then sword, alteast while i played.

No, daggers are out. Just testing with the Buzzer Blade proves that they are too gimp for the Heroic Strike follow up to Shield Slam.

We are prot warriors, we shouldn't be using daggers anyway.

I will be testing out my build with Dalrend's Sacred Charge shortly to see how that goes.

What is up with the gear sets?

It is a good idea to not only give a list of BiS items, but also an easy obtainable placeholder item. Or items that may have a special purpose like stacking one stat. But your list contains gear that is never ever going to preferred. And it is not even more avaible than the common BiS item. Just take out useless items. A crap gear list of tier 3 items is not gonna help anyone in any way.

Did you read the introduction to the gear section? This is so people who recently dinged 20 can go into a BG with items beneficial to them. Nothing worse than seeing a newly dinged 20 coming into a BG with no gear.

Just be realistic a little.
You think someone that can't be bothered to que for Shadowfang Keep as a Protection warrior and get Packleader Pauldrons. Is gonna look up a guide on twinkinfo and do a whole questchain in Redridge to get Bravo Company Pauldrons.

No, but they will for Bravo Company SIgnet to get hit capped. This way they know that when they complete that particular quest in the line to also get Bravo Company Pauldrons too, as they are viable starter pieces.

Oh and BTW, I went to Stendel's Pond in Westfall and got Stendel's Band on my 5th cast. So I will try this with more crit pieces to test out.

Might be good for Goldshire Duels.

Yes, but they are not worth losing any of the other rings over in my opinion. Especially when the others scale up in battlegrounds.



Red Beard Crest is +8 Strength and +5 Stamina when scaling. Shield Against the Evil Presence does. +7 Strength and +7 Stam. I don't think the one extra point of strength is better than 2 of Stamina.

I tried to keep it balanced. If you don't have enough Stamina, prot or not you are going to get burned.

what i was trying to say is that heavy jade ring and barbaric collare are unusable by f2p's because of the level req, yes you can make them but you cant use them

well you listed far worser shields for tier 2 and 3....

and Face Smasher(which isnt listed) has superior stats to Protector's Sword if you are looking for a BiS strength build

here is a spread sheet with numbaz from the f2pdev add-on . HS ED means heroic strike effective damage and SS ed means shield slam effective damage. no elixirs are used and all builds are hit capped. on a funny note you had almost the exact same stamina in the str build and the crit build.

As we can see here the crit build is much stronger and on average hits about 70 stronger. If we look at the HS damage you can see dagger is clearly worse even if you get a lil more crit.

Would you mind sharing who this player is? You can't expect people to have something to say and not know who this is. From what I've read, daggers are way out if the picture except for FCing, and that's max stan FCing I'm talking. (no hit cap)

That combo is bis for fcing it gives max effective health but your damage is going to be similar to that of the wicked dagger shown on the spreadsheet . Chances are they won't be gearing glass cannon either though so damage will probably be even lower
