Twink doesn't neccesarily (sp) mean that you own lower levels

I have no idea who the first twink was and what his/her motivations were but i made mine just because when i did do low level PvP i didn't want to get killed in 3 GCD's by other twinks, basically to have a chance.

Your opinion is without backing or any sort of evidence except for personal speculation. Perhaps you know some people who decided to twink for the shallow pleasure of facerolling noobs, but that does not mean that the majority did the same.



The idea behind twinking began long before WoW even came out, with its set-level battlegrounds. I learned about the craze in Diablo II, where people made competitive low-level chars for duels. They set up 'arenas' to duel with other 'twinks', and in games like these there wasn't even a way to 'bash noobs' even if you wanted to (unless you were a real loser.)

I was one of them!! I started playing d2 in ladder season 2 and by the end of it I had the third best level 9 LLD(Low Level Dueler)! By the end of season 3 I had the #2 level 9 and one of the top 10 level 18's and a well geared level 30! We constantly set up premade type games where we only dueled other lld's. Most of the time though we made a game like " Low level duels " waited for a few other llds to join and a handful of level 30-80 non twinks to join. 90% of the time it ended with the llds joining up to take down a undergeared high level and then procede to camp them from getting there body back and further humiliate them in any way possible! Just last week I logged on and did some 3v3's with my level 18 (we went 2-1 to win) with Eargod (who since season 2 has been the best and always be the best). My most fond memories of "twinking" are undoubtably from diablo 2 and I can say that I will be cancling my WoW account the day they release d3 and never look back, reguardless if LLDing is viable or not.

I can't help you get any closer to who or when the first wow twink was made or thought up, but twinking ain't a wow thing, I used to twink back when I played D2 LoD, the only difference was actually that we called it LLDs(low level duellers) I had a 49 orb soso, often raping 99 amazons, who had no pvp skills :] Kiting with orb, max hasted teleport and more dmg than the usual 99 soso, I pwned around in the "pvp" servers. It was a truely a great time. You used d2jsp(d2 lod trading community) to find the most tweaked items for our twinks, and having day-lasting 100man, 1v1,2v2 and 5v5 tourns For those who diden't know this, it might be an eye-opener to exactly how big and eternal twink gaming is.



Btw if anyone wanna hear more about what d2 lod 1.11 twinking was about, please don't hesitate to ask.

Twinking is a concept that existed before the time of World of Warcraft. And I don't think someone sat down 1 day and just decided "This lvl 19 is gonna be MAX out geared" etc.

Edit (Don't give me shit comments about how BG's were level 20 back then, I know! rofl)



I've pretty much been involved in twinking since day one (Europe side) and back in the days, it was abit better than average geared people that were running around with fiery weapons. Hell, we didn't even know we were twinking!

Yeah, tbh when i made my first twink ever.

her whole point was to "OWN NOOBS" then when i got better she was leveled...

And then i made Jailbot a few months later... at least...

anyway point is... i agree with orc completely.

My reasoning is, although i currently love fair competition. (or did when i quit)

I used to love beating people who have no chance.
