Jumps Jumps Jumps

Can you offer advice on how to get better at these jumps. Some I can do 100% first try (which are obviously the easier ones) like getting onto the horde and ally tunnel roofs. Some are a bit harder, like jump from behind horde healy hut to horde GY area.

Some I've NEVER succeeded at... up hills to Ally GY, for example. (That one is hard to practice cuz rezzing allies attack you constantly.)

I jump usually by spacebar and two-mouse buttons (to move forward). Do you go forward THEN jump? Or jump and then forward?

Do you ever strafe-jump?

Are there good places to practice hard jumps OUTSIDE of wsg that will help?

I'd like to become really good at this, although my guild discourages some of them, calling them exploits (hmm...)

In the very begining I mention that being a good place to practice jumping between wsg queues. Like the person said above me though, use your W key and spacebar to jump. It might be possible the other way but I think it would be much easier this way. If you practice out on those spikes on top of org bank and jump between them without positioning yourself... it will force you to learn how to do a clean jump and actually help you get your aiming practice down.

Use the w key to run forward. I know many people have better success using that than trying to use the mouse. It just gives you better sync when hitting your space bar.

Try jumping on top of the 'spikes' on the roof of the bank in Orgrimmar. They require you to jump and run forward in sync and they require you to learn precision aiming too.

@Painaid, What are all those Blue/White macros you have going throughout your entire UI? (in your videos)

Those are PUG macros. They say things like, "EFC is going Ramp-Side", etc.

I play D shaman in Prodigy with lameaid so he got me into it. I generally play on retaliation where queues are instant for horde and we're usually stacked enough to where I can go try out new jumps and work on ones we think might be possible.

Retaliation stacked? Lol? Maybe on Alliance, but Horde it's usually 1-2 twinks vs 6-8 twinks.

Btw very nice video so far, I'm still watching. Already have learned some new things :].

I guess I get lucky with queues but generally when I feel like trying some jumps we have a stacked team. And when I feel like playing our team is lvl 12 across the board. Works for me.

I cant watch because my cpu cant load it... =(

is it on youtube?

the admin of the site were saying that their stream servers have been overloading so just keep refreshing until it starts loading, sadly. give it a sec though because its a big video.

sat through 9 minutes of that shit. looked to me like you were losing 90% of those games lol.

gratz on using commonly known terrain exploits though.

Yeah when I decided to make the video I knew I would take some loses because but you can always check my win/loss on my pally, Fcingftl, I played about 20 games before I hit 19 as well. You can also see in the movie where one of my buddies asked me in party chat if I was seriously going to take a loss. Because I never want to lose, ask painaid.

So after 5 games of Practice, I found all my flaws in HOW I was jumping (spacing movement and jump to much) and I have completed almost every jump shown in the vid, multiple times for extra practice. Thanks for this great video man, this will surely help my flag carrying. You should que up tonight :]

(1) Jump first, then forward; this moves you slightly forward

That's what a lot of us call a 'half-jump.'

(2) Move then jump; this gives you a BIG jump forward.

That's just a regular jump.

vapor said:
You have to land on a spot midway up the slope, and then you have to do a BIG jump from there up. The problem is, if you move then jump (as required) you often just run off the edge.

That's all timing like you said. Do the biggest jump you can and on that jump you kind of have to aim farther to the right then it looks like. Look close at the video on that part.

The last issue seems to be positioning and face-direction.

Where ever your characters head is facing (holding the right mouse click) your body will automatically recorrect to face that direction during a jump even if the character is still spinning (shuffling thier feet) to that position.

Oh and the only jumps in the video that took me a few times to land were the alliance ramp fence jump, the horde ramp fence jump, and the jump between the huge stomp and the tree on the alliance gy/horde ramp side. That one is below the saw jump stuck in the same tree (but that one is easy.) But I never use those jumps in stressful situations so I haven't really ever had to get them down pat.

hope that answered your questions

You do tha parkour?

yeah that thing I quoted is actually a quote from a comment I got on the video. I've never thought of jumps like parkour but it is a really cool look on it. Those parkour videos are awesome though aren't they? I wish I was that krazy irl.
