Joining the bracket

after forgetting i had a 45 horde mage on kel'thuzad (nightfall battlegroup) and realizing it last night, i was thinking of twinking him. i did a couple of bg's last night and did surprisingly well, even against some ally twinks. just wondering if anyone knows of a good guide for mages at this bracket as far as gear is concerned. i love frost (as they are annoying as heck when i fight them) and having some survivability (dont want to be a glass cannon).

as well, if anyone has some twinks on this battlegroup or server, let me know, and perhaps we could get together (maybe a run or two if you have a higher level =D

as always, any help is greatly appreciated! =)

Welcome to the 49 bracket Animal, glad to have you here.

A balanced set of gear would be what you're looking for for a frost mage. You will probably want to aim for around 3000 HP with 375 mining, 290 spell damage, and around 4000 mana. I think this is doable, but I'll toss something on warcrafter together.

that would be really awesome! thanks a ton =)

right now i'm sitting at ~1500 hp (blech, but 45 and no enchants) and ~3400 mp. so i've got a lot of room for getting quest gear, and money is not an issue (as i have a buddy who's quite wealthy on this server =P). so lay on the gear and enchantments thick, i want to freeze some people up woooo!

thanks again!

[char=Kilrogg]Kripton[/char]

[char=Kilrogg]Kriptonic[/char]

are decent examples for high amounts of SP although i personally would choose to buff up more on the HP

i bet Kripton does some pretty insane damage though lol! yes, i would like to have that much SP, but i spose survivability is good too...do you know how well he stays alive during matches? is he just rock the damage but die 10-15 times in a match? i would not prefer to be that way...nice ratio of damage to survivability...thanks for the help as well oz! =)

I play an enhance shaman so casters are generally terrified of me, and can say the following about mages.

Frost mages are annoying but no more than that. Arcane mages are more difficult to kill. they have a dispel resistance in their tree somewhere which makes it almost impossible to purge anything off them... Frost is nice with all its anti-melee defenses, until you run into an enhancement shaman who purges it all off you in 3 seconds and proceeds to 1-shot you.

Fire also has that blast thing with a 30-second CD which gets melee off them and slows them afterwards, which I've seen a good fire mage use to get out of pretty much any situation.

Here's the mage I'm talking about.
