<jcm> Looking for premades

As the title states, <jesus christ marie> is looking for teams to play against in 10v10 WSG.

Since the bracket is just coming back to life, we aren't expecting super serious games. We'd just like to figure out the "meta" of 39 premades and gauge class balance a little better, and have some semi-competitive fun games while we're at it. We also think it will help create more interest in the bracket if premades happen, and we will have players streaming whatever games we get for that purpose.

There are a few restrictions I would like to put in place for games:

1. No more than two of any class
2. No more than two stealths (fc druid does not count towards this)
3. Brewmaster monks are not allowed to use Guard, and teams may only use one BM monk

It would work best for my guild to do games on either Friday or Sunday night, but if those nights are unable to work we can probably get something going during the week too.

If there are any guilds out there (or anyone who can form a team) who would like to play some games against us, please leave a post or feel free to PM me directly so we can discuss setting it up.

Thanks.

TBH those rules are very open and you will see some very scummy comps come out of it - but it should be fun and towards the greater good of the bracket

Yeah I agree, but tbh I think it's more fair to give everything a chance rather than ban a bunch of stuff immediately, especially considering this bracket has not had an actual 10v10 for quite a while. I foresee things like enhancement shamans and feral druids being a big problem though.

I've personally only played 3 classes at 39 so far, BM monk being one of them, but I've realized how broken the class can be and already took action to tone it down because I wouldn't even be willing to play if each team had 2 monks running around spamming guard every 30 seconds. If there's more broken/scummy things going on that need to be addressed, we'll ban them.

I plan to run a pretty diverse comp, and I hope other teams we play against will too.

Since its for fun/activity/ forming meta, would you be willing to split your team up and then take the other 5 slots, that way a more balanced game can be played resulting in more fun, looks better so it will be more appealing to players interested in joining the bracket, and a higher level of meta due to the eveness. I only bring this up because there doesn't seem to be any other guild able to even put up 6+ people let alone premade.

The split could be something like 2 healers + 3 dps vs 1 healer, the fc and 3 dps. What do you think of that?

I don't have much time but when i get back in 2 weeks i'd be down to even make a real id premade to fight you guys if anyone hasn't challenged you by then.

Some people have to much pride in losing, thus won't make plebmades, even though its just for fun/competitive. Regardless, i will get a team anyways haha.

J C M B O Y S#1!!!

Oi Wuxueyangx like my scaling-non-scaling thread, put allot of effort in it so far. As you where the one who told someone to make :p

It's worth thinking about for sure, although obviously I'd much rather do guild vs guild stuff. The problem is my guild has like 18 people who want to play to begin with. We're almost at a point where we could hold in-house premades anyway, so if we went down the road of splitting up our team that's likely what would happen, and only ~5 players outside of our guild would be participating which doesn't help much.

The idea behind trying to get premades going early is to motivate other guilds/players to form teams and bring more interest to the bracket because people will think "hey, these guys are already premading guild vs guild, that's pretty cool" and then other teams might start springing up as a result.

If our guild is essentially "carrying" the premade scene by having 70% of each team be from jcm, likely all it will lead to are more players trying to get into our guild to hopefully get into the split premades, and there's not really any competition being built up at all.

TL;DR I'm not opposed to the idea of splitting up our guild to get games going, but I'd like to only use it as a last resort.

why not make teams run 1 of each class and only non OP classes you can have a 2nd of. i.e. druid/enh sham/bm monk would not be okay.

9 classes total with only 1 class doubling up? Imo would make games more diverse than just playing fotm classes in excess.

The problem is that having too many restrictions early on will just turn people away. Not every guild happens to have every premade ready player on a different class, mine included. It would be cool in theory but it's not very practical in a bracket that is just coming back to life.

I think the restrictions we have currently are fine. If people would like to run "fotm" against us, go ahead. If it's clearly a problem then it will be addressed in the future.

don't see how it would be difficult to make a 39 twink since i made 4 in 2 days.. but okay.

It has nothing to do with difficulty, but more with the fact that imposing more rules upon potential teams for no reason is counterproductive. If for example, two players in a guild really like playing hunter, one of them would have to reroll and play something they are not comfortable playing in order for their guild to premade. It would not be an issue for my guild, but I can't say the same for others.

I just don't think it's very fair, that's all. Having a 2 class limit allows the flexibility for people to have a high likelihood of playing what they enjoy to play, while at the same time making class stacking difficult:

- Using 2 enhance shamans means you are unable to use Resto shamans, one of the stronger healers in the bracket, the same goes for shadow/disc priests
- Using a feral/boomkin, double feral, double boomkin etc. means you are unable to use a rogue, and you're also forced to use a non-druid FC

you realize you are putting rule restrictions the same correct? pot/kettle

"but more with the fact that imposing more rules upon potential teams for no reason is counterproductive":

like "hey monks you can't use a spell your class comes with" right?

There's quite a huge difference between enforcing a couple restrictions to keep things relatively under control, and forcing every team to use the exact same comp. Even the recent 19 twink cup did not even consider such a thing because it's extremely unreasonable to expect people to conform to it. Your pot/kettle argument is completely pointless because anyone can understand that a premade with 0 rules/restrictions whatsoever will just end in a disaster, and it sounds like you're implying we should either have no rules, or we should have tons of rules.

As for your comment on Monks, I play a monk and there's a 99% chance that's the class I'll be playing in premades. I'm restricting my own class because I've recognized that it can/will create problems. If restricting Guard and limiting it to 1 BM monk is not enough, I'll simply play another class.

I'm not sure what else there is to say, I'm just repeating myself. Surely you must realize that forcing all potential teams into one comp and one comp only is a very bad move with how few people currently play 39. The entire goal here is to try create activity and a reasonable level of competition, and if some people end up using classes because they're stronger than others then it's their choice. I don't work for blizzard and balance the game.

I like the idea of splitting up your playerbase to include randoms. It will foster goodwill and encourage even teams. We did that at 29 during the first half of the expansion for about 5 months. It will encourage competitors to make toons even of their direct friend group isn't doing so. Their making a 39 and relaying how great the bracket is will have a domino effect. That's how 19s took off this year.

What are your thoughts towards jumps/exploits?

Doesn't having mounts nullify most jumps? For instance if you're GY jumping I can just mount and go ramp alot faster then in 19s. and exploits are called exploits for a reason :p

Well, and this is just an opinion atm, I think in any premade/tournament setting that mounts shouldn't be used. I think you will find more rewarding and interesting gameplay if fc's aren't nullified so easily.
