Is this legit?

Been away a while, so not sure if this is new but I've never seen it before.

Hmm, I saw you post in threads since these new glitches and bugs are around

To put it simply: blizzard has failed completely this time around; half of wsg is bugged; you can jump out of some areas, you can get onto spots you could never go by normal means, you can go to spots where you are unattackable by players who aren't in the exact same spot as you etc etc etc

What you showed there is just the tip of the iceberg

edit: and just to answer the question in your thread title: I don't think it's legit, exploiting terrain bugs is a major downpoint to any gameplay - if I saw someone on Aggramar do this, he'd be in a tough spot...

It's legit. Wouldn't really call it a bug or anything but provocative thinking. It's pretty cheap but i don't think anything is actually being exploited.

I have seen it a couple of times but that's why we have ranged classes :)

Wifey doesn't know I'm playing again, so I don't get on very frequently.

I agree about terrain, if it's easily doable, like the jump up the hill to the ally ramp is cool, or running around the fences to get onto the tun roofs but this seems more like the old jump on the vases above the ally FR and get up into the planters kinda deal. Ya I know they are still target-able but were we able to get in melee range we could have retrieved.

I don't personally use it with the flag, but I do defend my FC if they're there. Its a really easy jump to make and completely in LoS of that whole room, so I don't have too much of a problem with the spot.

If I do go up there to heal, I'll usually jump down and go back up a few times so people can see it. I'll show you next time if you emote nicely at me and stop attacking :). I usually respect the /dance peace treaty, not super srs about this game :D

:D Ya, I just never saw that before and couldn't find the terrain bug quickly. Some Monk was making it very hard on me :p

Define legit.

If it's by Blizzard's rules then no terrain exploit is ''legit''. If it's by the rules of the community then I have no flipping idea. But frankly, I don't consider it legit.

rules of the community?

If a character is somewhere unreachable by normal means = cheating/exploiting, whatever you want to call it.
Rules of a pair of individuals larger than myself.

''I don't know what the majority of F2Ps on twinkinfo think of terrain exploits thus I will refrain from answering that question for them.''

Is what I meant with that remark.

The horde jump only needs like 8%, this one in the alliance room doesn't need any iirc.

Unfortunately there are spots you can stand up there where you are LoS'd to all ranged, and it's a pita to work your way around that ledge without falling off to get at people standing there.

Imo any place where you can stand in plain view but be out of LoS is a bug/glitch and using it as a spot to hold the flag long term is an exploit.

Sorry, I did understand what you meant. I just don't think there seem to be any rules here, as everyone has such different opinions.

Personally I think it's lame to jump somewhere barely anyone can get to you.. Why spend all that time gearing just to stand somewhere out of combat?

If every single player in the BG knows the exploit, only then can it add variety. When half your team are just stood jumping against a wall like idiots.. it just delays the game unnecessarily.

Maybe Bob can make a poll to see if people are for, or against the terrain exploiting.

If a poll would create a actual solution in the average wsg match I would be for it. But I'm willing to bet a lot of F2Ps don't come here.

The example I posted was ragged edge of exploit in my opinion, especially if it takes 8% increased speed to get up there because a rouge would have to spec specifically to get up there.

The one on that Ally ledge doesn't require any boost. I've been up there on my horde priest/pally a few times returning flags, as well as on my shaman without using ghost wolf. Rogue too, but I use Nighstalker.

I've also only seen people get through to the LoS'ed ledge across the way when I accidentally feared them through the invisible wall. I'd definitely be less keen on that spot though if there is a way to intentionally get over there.

Also...Bend, who let you have disengage :p
