at level 1 I really doubt if class matters much. Depending on how OCD you are... For example, if you create 2 new rogues, you can take the non boa starter dagger off one, and mail to the other. (faster attack speed, I believe the whites have a 1.7 speed vs 1.8 on other daggers. This alone doesn't mean much. However, you are going to be stacking haste everywhere you can, and crit and elemental force as an enchant. The faster speed means more swings, the haste increases EF procs, crit increases the chance to crit. Herbalists gloves would be my choice for pretty much any non-clothie class, due to the higher armor value, enchant with "glove reinforcements" (+14? stam at level 1). Most of your damage will not come from how much stats you have, but from how many EF procs and crits you can get. Use some sharpening stones to get a bit extra "melee auto attack dmg"
But, geared and enchanted, pretty much any class will be about as good as another, since you really don't get much to play with.
