Is it worth making a new character and level it to 20. I tried these past few years to do that but the ques either rarely pop and when they do its like a 5v5 one sided stomp. Also getting gear is kinda boring nowadays, before you just min maxxed the classic dungeons and working towards honor/darkmoon heirlooms, but now you get gear everywhere and its all the same, just focusing on ilvl. I'm not really interested in achievements or pve. What are your experiences nowadays. I'm talking about eu if that matters.

It's still a thing
It's way more complicated than before
BGs are not very balanced, prepare to be 2 shot.
If you don't care about achievements or pve I recommend Vet instead of F2P

Do servers matter for que times? why vet instead of f2p? dont vets have the same treatment when the sub runs out?

It's still a thing but you have to be prepared for a world of pain because F2Ps are no longer in queues with levelers but are in the queues with the XPoff. So basically it's like doing PvP where the other side has raid bosses on their team.

So it sucks and the queues are insanely long, got it

There're almost no 29s or 206 ilvl Dractirs in BG right now, and almost every time they got kicked out, so most of the time it's f2p and 20s vets only. By the way people can use cross-faction groups to switch sides for balance/fast queues etc. so there are more premades in queue that can play both factions. Queue is fine at every evening, especially on weekends.
