Is affliction viable yet

Hello, Yes I know any spec is viable but in the new patch can Affliction compete with destro? I haven't touched my lock since April.

im pretty sure affliction got some dmg buffs last patch but i doubt it will ever be able to compete with destro. one conflag crit is like similar damage to letting a UA do its entire course of damage over time, and fights never seem to last that long, so destros burst will likely always pull way ahead in damage, you simply wont have the time for the dots damage to outweigh the burst provided by destro i dont think. perhaps in a premade setting with like adequate healers for fights to last long enough you'd see affliction do some good numbers, but i still doubt it would ever pull ahead of destro even in premade.

Aff dots scaled woefully poorly last patch - they're still going to underperform badly since a percent increase of a small number will still be relatively small.

Though as a 24 Affli I am sure you'd be (more than) viable in a non-premadeVSpremade setting.

You sohuld have learned by now......every spec and every class is viable in it's own way......and you play a ''twice as strong'' p2p compared to f2p's in a f2p bracket....so the question itself is ridiculous..........

It's the same thing as asking ''hey my p2p friends is a certain warlock spec viable in killing weak f2p's with ease or do i have to put more effort with my skill into it?''.......get it ?

Even in big fights in 24s, people are tending to get burst down quick, which still renders aff obsolete.
