Denmark used to be very expensive. But over the last years we've gotten fibre wires well covered all over the country which ofc makes internet faster and cheaper

this isnt an issue of anyone being sheep or people being stupid, its basically people being cheap. Most likely whoever is paying the internet provider you have.

You pay for a better connection, its as simple as that.

cablevision,verizon etc, they all have different plans, some come with better upload/download speeds then others..

On Wifi.

My router is a dual band 300Mbps router and my adapter is a 300Mbps adapter. I currently get 300Mbps connection speed between my router and my computer. It's the connection between my house and Comcast that's throttled to shit.

this is patently false. in the us there is often only 1 or 2 choices in any given market, satellite internet being a shit 3rd "choice". the prices are fixed, and internet speeds throttled (see: recent netflix vs verizon news for starters).

for instance comcast is just now upgrading people to 50mbps*, but only if you have their most expensive tiered packages (land line, most expensive internet, most expensive cable - which is hundreds of dollars a month).

the monopolys also keep fiber from being used.. even though it has been laid in many cities across the US, companies like comcast essentially blackmail cities into not allowing it to be used for the public - ex, washington dc has fiber, but it is only allowed to be used by govt and some private interests, not the public as a whole. why? cuz comcast are bastards, so is time warner. if they combine america is super fucked.

tl;dr its an issue of people being stupid and not combating comcast. namely our govt being stupid and allowing monopolies again.
