Interesting gear/dungeon update just rolled onto the beta...

No idea if it was maintenance earlier or the update that just got implemented, but ToC and the other WotLK dungeons now drop blue loot on the beta, according to the adventure journal. Much lower ilvl (like 89 at level 30? I forgot). :thinking:

Classic got bumped up to level 30 required loot now, but things like runeblade are still epic --- but are listed at ilvl 91 (at level 30), not 112 (at level 29) as they were eariler. BUT... my epic gear on my character is still 112.

Magisters terrace used to be like level 25 and is now 30 like the rest of TBC and has blue drops as well. (Pretty sure it was, didnt take any pics cuz dont care about that place lol)

Interesting stuff. Maybe dont get any hopes up for grandfathered gear since the new ilvl is established in the new expansion, not right now... although the character I copied after the update still had 112 gear.

Could be some serious GF going down, maybe even for 20 as well, no time to check now but maybe later this week.

Damn the ToC gear changing to Rare is a buzzkill… gotta farm ToC on all 7 of my 29’s before the 1st now rip
 
ya, not gonna do any PvP this week. getting ALL possible gears on my warrior including desolation pieces etc.
 
What hurts me most is that I already farmed these dungeons to death and deleted all the gear that wasnt usefull at the time

Number 1 rule of twinking: always think ahead with the "how can this backfire 5 years later" mentality when it comes to quest rewards and dungeon drops.
 
so can we still do the same dungeons as before? like blood furnace and stuff? or is all tbc dungeons 30+ now? or just the ones we had to walk into?
 
No, not even classic ones now. Most everything is loot level 30+ so the assumption is that it's just typical broken blizz ineptitude and will be fixed before release... I have concerns that it's intended so legacy runs wont give level-appropriate loot, but eh.

Even in chromie time the loot was level 30 in blood furnace. I could walk in at 29, mobs were 29, loot was 30.

Didnt check at 20 cuz i been really busy lately, but from what i see in their thread it's the same deal. He's testing SL tho.

edit- i think like deadmines wasnt 30, but ragefire was, wailing caverns, silly low stuff. Must just be borked.
 
If chromie time was normal like it is now I'd be really worried it was intentional... but that's the same so it's borked.

edit- at least it wasnt right last time I checked. I'll check chromie again later tonight.

If you ask me its begining to look like blizz wants every dungeon to drop warforged and other procs, but maybe thats my wishful thinking

Well for me its wishful thinking but I guess for pvpers that would be a nightmare

Don’t hate me for saying this, but does that mean quests can upgrade to epic + tert in the near future ‍♂️

Wait.... are the TBC dungeon socket/tert on there? I'm just assuming that's a beta bug.... why would they start doing that now?

I'd love (hate) it.... but cant see the reason to do it.

edit- thought both were quest rewards viewing on my phone.
edit2- and now looking at wowhead beta, all that epic stuff is still epic there. So meh.

I don't think that's how it works

edit- i might check a few classic drops this weekend, but not really classic... deadmines and shadowfang are not showing level 30 req loot, and i think they count as cata dungeons now.

these dungeons and their gear needs to have a minimum level requirement of the endgame of that expansion (wrath) which is 30.

raid level dungeons for legion that only drop epics require legion endgame level for both entrance and gear which is 40-45 I think.

in addition to this, if blizz are truly thinking about putting level requirements on wrath/tbc and WOD dungeons, as evidenced by current DF build, these endgame focused dungeons should follow suit.

unsure what you are asking for at this point. do you want drops to require 30 or not, make up your mind already man.
