Influx of RBGers on Horde | Residual Ban Issues

They are pugs, they aren't meant to be completely serious. The rules take it too far and punish people for simply playing.

Artonkn - you're right, PUGS aren't meant to be taken super seriously.

However, the rules here are very much akin to the rules that were brought forth in 19s for the TC (banning of ferals primarily) - they're meant to assist the longevity of the bracket.

Unfortunately, the very nature of 39s (more abilities, more talents, meta changing, more consumables able to be used, improper balance) requires the introduction of further mitigation to protect and preserve the integrity and quality of the games. This results in essentially "more" rules but it helps to ensure higher quality games (ex. A resto shaman not being globaled via ferocious bite/arcane bomb opener or somethin

While I don't necessarily agree with some of the people yelling for bans on all consumables and such, I do agree that rules controlling ferals/bms or usage of arcane bombs/etc. are needed much like in the past when a ban on "aimed shot" was put forth.

I get your perspective and I think you have a good message in terms of this community being careful about how MUCH we attempt to control gameplay (we'd basically be repeating Blizz's mistake of shoehorning people towards specific gameplay molds). But the rules are basically just a mitigation ploy in response to blizzards inability to scale low level PvP properly. I think, overall, if done properly, it has its place in this community.
