His sentiment may be that random Battlegrounds are not "competitive" enough for him. Blizzard offers wargames for people that want "competitive" games.
In actuality, when you get real down to it the reason many people get upset or dislike the xplock and unlock merge is that the people that are XPlocked lose their identity. In other words, they are vanity in a video game gets them upset.

Twinks fought for the merge of brackets since wotlk split them up. Now that they finally are, people can't even appreciate the fact that we have constant pops..?

With the current state of twinking , had the brackets NOT been merged, no brackets would be active and Blizzard would have destroyed us.

Are all twink brackets (19,29,39,49,etc) now merged where xp-off and xp-on folk are together in all BGs? Did they reverse the WoTLK (3.2?) change that separated BGs? Was this reversal in 7.0?

yes but added new systems like stat template for each spec, and extra stats gained from ilvl
