...I think I hurt their feelings...?

So here's the scoop.

I'm a Holy Pally well on my way to twinkage - don't have BIS for every slot, but I'm getting there. I keep running instances with the RDF, and I'm selected as healer like 100% of the time. Thing is, my gear has reached a point that healing exclusively is boring because it takes 1 or 2 instant cast spells and my groupmate is back to 100% hp; so I usually run in and beat the shit out of the NPC's along with the DPS, and shoot heals out as needed.

And unless I'm grouped with other twinks, I'm topping the charts in DPS; and doing so much damage that the tank can't hold agro, so it often ends up with me fulfilling all 3 roles (healing, dpsing, and tanking) with some p2p tank with 400 hp crying because I stole his job, and occasionally DPS crying for the same reason... although usually the DPS don't care; they just sit back and /popcorn at the raging 'tank'.

Anywho, my question is this: Why does this bother people so much? Why do the tanks care if I pull a mob off of them - I mean, I'm the healer; if I pull, it's my problem, not the tank's (even though it's never actually a problem, cuz the instances are practically soloable at this point). Why do the DPS care? If I top their damage output, it only equates to a faster run; it's not like their being graded or anything... even if they were, 99% of the difference in performance has nothing to do with me being "exceptionally good" or them "not knowing how to play" but it's the difference between twink gear and the gear of the average level ~20 toon on the way to 85 who has no interest in gearing on the way... so, it makes sense that when I stick my hammer in something's face, that it does more damage than these other folks, cuz they're simply not geared...

...yet they're horribly offended when I outperform whatever role their trying to fulfill...

Have any of you run into this (retarded) problem? Is it poor sportsmanship or something for a healer to do more than heal?

Yeah, then those stupid healers who think they are tanks and dps and the best player in the world go and post it on every forum they know like it's their goddamn twitter account and poke all their friends about it because it's myspace and it just makes me so angry i can't be a useless player like everyone else and update my social media ingame and GRRRRRRRRRRR

Right?

your not very nice naeomie
<
tsk tsk

I do the same on my healer to speed up runs. I don't see any problem with it.

Nah, the warrior trying to kill stuff with his bow didn't seem to care when I tanked and healed on my hpally, but then again, he didn't seem to know he wasn't playing a hunter.

Seriously, I've not really ran into this problem. But that's because I get lazy in dungeons. Maybe you should try multi-tasking...watch tv, eat, feed the baby, etc.

I think these people are feeling usurped. I kind of feel that way when I run into dps/tanks that feel the need to constantly heal themselves or others. But then I figure they probably don't have enough buttons to press or just aren't used to trusting heals. No one wants to feel useless I guess. Don't worry about it because you probably won't run into them again.

I don't give people a choice on my pally if I load and the tank has less the 1000 HP I tell them I'm taking over they can either sit back and enjoy the ride or leave.

That being said, a twink forum is not the place to QQ about this.

you shouldn't be pulling off tanks at all if you're not using righteous fury, tanks should auto attack for more threat than most people

Let them pull their mobs, and you pull yours. That way they still get to do something besides have their opening casts interrupted by the target dying.

If the tank is still throwing a fit ask the rest of the group these questions:
  • Is anyone dying?
  • Is this slowing down the run?
  • Would you rather have someone along who will be rolling on drops you want?

When I did that in WC and the tank still wouldn't shut up, the rest of the group kicked him (without any suggestion from me), and I tanked the instance on my 19 twink warlock. They also got more XP from kills, due to there only being 4 in the group for the rest of the run.

i'd rather see a straight-up blatant 24 flame thread on this forum than a thread like this

talk about completely and utterly pointless and in no way related to f2p at all

I ALWAYS DPS when I'm in a dungeon. Pop bubble, renew, and the occasional penance and that's usually all I need to do healing wise. Never gotten anyone upset at me though.

Did I mention that Rhaellia and I duo'd Stockades last night? Moloch and Hogger anyway. She's a holy pally, I'm a fury warrior.

Eh, some of you are taking this the wrong way... this isn't an "I'm so uber and everyone else sucks" post... as stated in the OP, the difference in performance between me and the other toons is 99% gear - this isn't about who's the better player. I'm just baffled at how offended people are when the healer does more than heal.

You're complaining about gear in the first 5 levels of being able to use the dungeon finder when blizzard's repeatedly buffed exp gains when you're fully twinked and level capped at 20?

I am SO taking this the wrong way.

Yea... not complaining about gear. You might want to reread the OP; your hostility appears to be directed at something that doesn't in fact exist.

I dislike my life as of this moment and I find all of you fine people horrible in taste.
