Made in EU
Hello everyone,
Some of you will ignore this thread. I even dare to say most of you will. Unless you are bored and have nothing else to read, keep reading.
I took a break from twinking and WoW in general in 2014. At the time I was leading the oldest active guild in Europe, Against All Odds. After fighting Tough Love in what was known as the most heated event of the year (where the best achievement we got was a single tie) and losing the first time as a veteran guild on Alliance, it took a toll to all of us. So some of us decided to take a break.
Roughly 2 and a half years later (2016) I came back into twinking and I first heard about the Twink Cup and The National Wargaming League. I was thrilled with such development from the twinking community, it was a major progress. I saw people regularly streaming and a small but devoted audience.
I immediately contacted all my core players, so I could be updated regarding current guild affairs and twinking in general. To my surprise and sadness, half my roster was gone. I noticed that @Hardbass was no longer fighting for Against All Odds, same for @Smull and @Jva . Some of my best players were now a part of Gurubashi Surf Club/Hey I'm Average.
They all explained to me that their decision was due to the fact that they created great bonds with the people they fought, enough to represent their colors. It's something honorable and I greatly appreciate their sincerity with me. I also talked with @Blueprint which updated me, and I am happy for them.
I was left with half a roster which was severely outdated and/or inactive. I convinced some players to come back, such as @Mesikämmen which I consider a brother, same for @Roula , @Outplayed and @Slacknul . Later on @Squidgy and @Scope (US) joined us, which gave me hope to rebuild Against All Odds once more.
But unfortunately we couldn't fill the void, not on EU as it currently stands. So I broke my own sacred rule: never play on any other region besides EU.
That's where Realstate comes in. That would be my US persona, my alias. My reason to come over to the US, to scout. I wanted to find players whiling to compete for us, and in exchange we would give them conditions to play on EU.
But the tides changed after my first weeks. I found myself surrounded by a climate of competition, naturally a result from the upcoming Twink Cup. I felt that I was doing it all wrong, I shouldn't be bringing people from US to the EU... but the contrary. I should get my players to the US.
You made an impression on me and changed my mentality regarding your region. I've had the pleasure to fight with and against players like @Darklumiya @Pizza @Kancer @Grizzlefoot @LennywBT @Apnea @Phobia @saxxon @Camo @bigmoran and countless more.
Thank you for making my time worthwhile. Hopefully I will move my guild over in time for the Twink Cup Qualifiers.
Peace out,
Sputnick/Realstate
