Hunter help

Looking to where i should go next? Teldara @ Gilneas - Community - World of Warcraft havent really touched since cata

Assuming you want to main Survival:

Go for Darkmoon Faire (previously Justice Point) shoulders (PvE).

Swap out your Black Wolf for Serra'kis.

Swap out Foreman's for Naga Battle Gloves.

Maybe pick up an AGM in the long-term.

Survival is more about agility / stamina / crit, Marksmanship is more about Agility / Haste.

Both are viable. If you're adventurous, you can certainly try Beast Mastery, but from what I've seen personally and heard from testers, it isn't very good (even post-6.0.3 buff).

Whats bis weapon now? and anything else? keep these legs or go hoggers. I have serra'kis and nagas

Go marksman, it does the most damage, since hunters lost all of their cc, you want to get the most burst you can get.

Crit > Agility for burst.

First priority is getting PVP gun or PVE bow. For MM PVE bow is a must, for surv PVP gun may even be better.
Ellos band > ROP.

And is 2+ scope still available? i have it on my boa bow
Still available through Gnomeregan farm, but it scales to +1 now, so you can just lvl eng and craft +1 scope, they're the same now.

Crit > Agility for burst.
Crit > high probability of a small burst.
Agi > small probability of a high burst.
Haste > better sustain damage through fast casts and higher focus regen (from haste and fast casts).

From my tests for MM it's Agi>Haste>Crit.
Here is full glasscannon MM hunter, will probably change insignia for haste trinket.

Survival is kind of like MoP hunter in terms of the way it does damage single target (obviously SS removal changed its max damage potential in teamfights). It's very bursty relative to other specs - it has enough damage to be viable.

Marksmanship is fairly monstrous right now. Fully geared with Haste and with correct pet use (I'm seeing Mortal Strike > Haste buff > Anything else), you are a nightmare for enemy healers. You can toss Aimed Shots around at Clothies above 80% health and watch their health bars get devastated.

I would like to confirm this character looks BiS, at least Horde side. One may consider LFH instead if total HP is too low, or second haste trinket to be even glassier. Concerning pets, I prefer hyena or wasp, or - if haste buff is provided by someone else - a dog.

With WOD out hunter tactic has changed a little.
MOP - agressive playstyle, always take 1v1 opportunities, so a balanced set was quite preferable to be alive after some unlucky crits.
WOD - team/support playstyle, engage 1v1 only healers (to slow them down) or classes you can kite/outdamage (ret heal for example), so 90% of time I prefer to stay at 30y range behind my teammates and shower enemy healers with aimed shots pretending to be 3k jaja. Staying away from front lines, being always with my team lets me have glasscannon set.
Insignia gives upper hand vs ferals, paladins, WW monks and some minor help against other things.
For me it's dog>all, but most of the time I take scorpion for mortal wounds, this debuff is a huge difference.

When your hunter is dealing less burst than mine you will know why.

I've been farming agi pot for a little while now in rfc / barrens. atm ive been using wolf for the crit but ive seen that dog is pretty good and im trying mm but the play style is boring but the damage is good and what should i do for pet talent?

Cunning is best pet spec cuz of roar of sacrifice.

F2P hunters don't have any CC anymore. So if you want defeat enemies you should choose one of these ways:

1. Maximize your AGILITY after you obtain enough stamina. Crit is less important but still useful.

Prized Beastmaster's Mantle
Tumultuous Cloak of the Bandit, Monkey or Sentry Cloak
Naga Heartpiercer
Bands of Serra'kis
Naga Battle Gloves
Vigorous Belt of the Bandit or Monkey
Hogger's Trousers
Standard Issue Prisoner Shoes
2 x AGM
Glowing Lizardscale Cloak only if you can get AGM.

How much stamina is enough for YOU? You should find out.

or

2. Give up survivability and stack HASTE as many as you could:

Charmed Ancient Bone Bow
Foreman's Gloves
Vigorous Belt of the Wild
Ring of Precision
Dread Pirate Ring or Signet of Argas
2 x Swift Hand of Justice
Pet: Wasp or Hyena.

Haste is not only for Marksmanship: it works very well with Survival too. I prefer this option: I do more damage and more kills. ;)

Beast Mastery is for PROs because requires more skills. :p

Im not a huge fan of MM because I feel that the style is too boring, slow, and predictable. Your professions look good but make sure you get Recipe: Elixir of Minor Agility - Item - World of Warcraft because its very useful and only a few have it.

Top 3 Pets
Dog-Increases agility
Boar-Versatillity (a under rated stat)
Bat-Multistrike (helps give more burst)
IDK what fun you've found about multistike. It's very random, gives 5% to do 36% on surv (in PVP it gives only 1 stike), so it's ~2% damage increase and from my tests on multiple dungeon runs it's not 5%, but 1.5-3% (static data was quite big).
Why you dont mention scorp/croc for mortal wounds debuff is even stranger.

So from here Teldara @ Gilneas - Community - World of Warcraft do i go nagas? and change cloak to the wc one? and what about feet of the lynx do they scale better also? and i have pvp bow just didnt know if it was better and are hoggers bis because of the crit / agi or should i be more worried about a little more health
For MM.

For max damage:
Mail loom shoulders > leather (pve) loom shoulders
Naga bow > pve bow
Cloak of bandit > lizardscale
Bracers > serakis
Belt of bandit > haste one
Ellos band > ROP
Rune of duty > 2x haste trinkets

To have good HP:
Foremans gloves > naga
Hoggers > smelting pants
Rune of duty > AGM
Naga bow > pve bow / pvp gun

FOTL scale worse than prison boots, 1 armor less.
At the moment all BOAs scale much better than any other items, so BOA weapon > naga all the time.

I prefer pets that arent situational. What if there is no healer on other team? And tbh Hunters cant solo a good healer nowadays even with the debuff. At the end of the day it comes down to preference.
