How are you playing your hunter in 5.0.4? Since Survival is so subpar now I tried the other ones, both BM and MM seem like solid choices, No huge damage output, but decent.
Also, since hit cap has been decreased, I believe Gloves of the Fang or Foreman's Gloves are now BiS. As far as weapons go, The heirloom weapons seem really weak. I think Blizzard might've forgotten about them. I'm currently using Bow of Ire, it's pretty good. (If only we could enchant them with weapon enchants instead of scopes.) Discuss.

Seeing as Hunters are no longer a damage class first, Bow of Ire is the clear BiS for the 8 stamina. Stam/Expertise stacking is now the way to go.

im still using my Norm set i still like it alot but i need to try these new items out. - Alexandriya

I haven't even considered this... it's going to be fun seeing variety gear-wise in a class that ACTUALLY requires skill to play now! (more or less)

Invoked and I are theorycrafting and testing out different options, I'll post a link of the results after it's perfected

Awesome@Vek'nilash - current BM hunter BiS... survival is trash atm

i was quite happy to hear hunters getting nerfed! but when i saw the damage they were putting out i kinda of felt bad.

Arcane shot is 20 focus and often can do a bit less or even more damage than explosive shot. I'm rolling MM right now and it's really good.

Prioritizing agi>crit as BM for 2 reasons-
- as BM, agi>crit for maximum AP
- I found a say to ensure 100% crit chance using in game mechanics ( no hacks ), and no I'm not releasing the info on how to do it unless you PM me or I already know you :p

I chose dual argas rings because I am auto hit capped with stained shadowcraft helm and spaulders, and have nofurther use for ello's band except for my FC set. As for the gloves - a friend assured me that it is ONLY rogues who are dodging everything to the max, so having a pair would be highly situational, however it wouldn't hurt :p I've yet to test this on my own, but plan to tomorrow when I queue on my hunter... If I do!

I see little use in stam stacking, it takes forever for anyone to die and the extra 200-300 health isn't going to help as much as the burst you can do with the higher agility and crit chance. Awesome personally your gear choices are not what I would recommend as you have less crit and hit than the gear setup on my hunter. Also you should try foreman's gloves if you can find a pair.

i have been running marksman, i found BM was to cost heavy to be effective... kill command costing 40 focus is silly when it's damage isn't on par for the cost.

in marksman however is 50 focus, but i'm getting 1200-1500 crits with it. i think the best kill command had to offer was 600 maybe. i spec my pet with cunning and i spec narrow escape, which i use more for rooting that kiting... i was 2nd in dmg out put in wsg, you have to stay out of range and be selective. knowing when to pop a steady shot to spam arcane shot for DB's is huge, but all in all hunter is still laying down the law from distance.

anyone thinking tarnished ranging berzerkers helm might be better than shadowcraft helm now for the haste? i mean crit isn't our be all end all for dps anymore, but getting aimed shot and steady shot off faster seems to be a wiser approach? discuss?

Seeing as Hunters are no longer a damage class first, Bow of Ire is the clear BiS for the 8 stamina. Stam/Expertise stacking is now the way to go.

The large amount of agi and crit is going to outweigh the 0.2 dps on the BoA weapons, either way. Bow of Ire is the clear BiS item.

For us hunters that dont bother to faction change use the BoA gun/bow still for now. BM is fun XD prob going marks however Cheers!

Yerrr....
I played around with BM.. it's very nice and fun vs melees xD, but as soon as a wild healer appears, it was more a .."flee" scenario. Now playing around with Marks.. and it actually seems like I can put just a slight presseur on healers with Aimed Shot. Allthough, I mainly just play as D hunter, it's still usefull to hold them holy palladin lazer shooting finger pointing away^^ ... and Posthaste as talent wich is imo the most viable one xD... saved my ass many times vs roots or frosttraps or w/e.. not to mention the OP speed boost afterwards^^

Master escapist hunter (bit ironic)

Uh .. and Tencity pet to impale them for a sec when they chase me FTW!
