How Viable are Holy Paladins in 39s?

Thinking of twinking a 39 twink holy paladin. My three mains (rogue, lock, and druid) have the elixirs, enchants, and gems needed for her when I return to wow for cata. I will only need to get the boa pvp shoulders, chest, and Insignia trinket from WG.

Never played a holy paladin before but know what the gear and stats are all about. Plus, paladins are one of the easiest classes to learn. I have not made a paladin before because I was anti-paladin in WOTLK, but I want to join the dark side. :p

Judging from 4.0.1 videos, holy paladins are virtually unkillable in lv 80 bgs, but with people re-rolling lowbie rogues with the increased ambush damage from the subtlety tree, the fate of paladins could be different in lower brackets. So, how are holy pallies in this bracket? Thanks. :D

At 39, Holy paladins were always OP because they could never oom and stack a crap ton of armor and basically be immune to melee. Even before 4.01 it took atleast 2-3 good stunlock rogues to take down my old healadin. And now healadins are even stronger than before.

Are they Viable healers in the 39 bracket? Yes.

Do they mantain a good DPS even as a healer? Yes.

Good Survival? Yes

Are you in need of a gear guide as well or was this enough?

We already know what's available through quests and dungeons, but I'd imagine that BoAs still fits most slots.

BoAs are hideously expensive at the moment through justice points, so you might want to get them with champion seals instead if one of your 80ies are a Crusader.

i don't think you'll be able to provide an accurate gear guide, just because he said he's returning once cata comes, and with all the item/quest/dungeon changes...

im a she..... >.> lol.

It's so op. you can keep yourself and others up with no mana loss providing you have enough of an hp buffer. My guy is actually a mix of 2h holy dps specced with stam-str-crit-int gear focusing on instant exorcisms (experimental atm) It's sick.

problem at 39 is that you cant get both beacon and magic dispell in same build, its either..

i would try something like Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft this gets both exo enhancin talents, at 80 i just luv those ;) insta exos with 0 mana cost ftw- u are goin to dps a lot there...

i play holy, ret and prot specs all at lvl 80, dont have any experience on 39 palas though ( except having killed many ;) )

@joaq Thanks. If Beacon of Light needs 15 talent points to be activated and I am already using 16 at lv 39, then could I trade the point from Sacred Cleansing into Beacon of Light?

Yes, as stated above. It's either dispel magic with cleanse or Beacon of Light.. tough choices are tough :)

i'd take dispell if i did 2v2 or 3's, for BG's beacon might just be better as all healing classes now have a magic dispell ( i dunno if its available @39 for all ). if youre your teams only dispeller then its a must have talent
