How to Improve my Priest Play

Like I said I understand the advantages of each spec and I prefer disc because the extra damage capabilities when I'm all alone, which I usually am since most pugs are full of players that really don't know how to play a wsg. I'm sure there are plenty of threads on this site dedicated to this discussion of specs since it appears to be such a heated debate... just go see Shiro's guide where it was Shiro vs. Me & Oasis & Cheri about this topic.



But really I was hoping for some tips/tricks/something I can do better from people who have played with or against my priest lately.
 
I just can't pass up chastise. Comes in way too handy.
 
Can't really judge what you're doing wrong or right since I'm not on US.

Anyway just keep shield up on yourself and the FC.



You should be able to foresee when someone's going to interrupt you, so just fakecast well.



Against rogues, you should really try to just kill him asap since you do more damage than him. If you don't get interrupted it's an easy win.



Against mages, make sure you have shield up on you before you actually cast something, to avoid getting killed in imp. counterspell.
 
Pretty much the same as Hurrx except I usually play Horde D so I don't see much of you. Pretty much just basic stuff, try to position yourself a distance from FC so rogues have to run to get interrupts, LoS their O while keeping FC in view, Bandie if you can to conserve mana. Idk if you SMeld or not, but its prolly worth a try if you don't, and for the love of god don't touch that S key.

I much prefer playing O but lately I've gotten stuck playing D since I am one of very few or only ally heals

When I lost dispel I gave up on 19s for a couple months almost rolled a shammy just so I could have purge, the dispel that couldn't be as awesome as dispel but was kinda close

I would love for games to be like they used to, no time limit, no debuff, no showing where your flag is, no lowered gy ahh good ol' warsong with more balanced classes and nethercleft... damn they were so much better back then

As someone who has twinked a priest in multiple brackets at the highest level of play, I can tell you at 19 that holy>disc. I have played disc at 29 since the end of vanilla and at 39 in the most competitive time in nightfall. I prefer disc. That being said, holy is definitely better at 19.
