How to Get Rumsey Rum Black Label

This guide should help those (like me at one point) who are confused and frustrated in not knowing how to get Rumsey Rum! It's a very step-by-step guide, and I recommend you log in and follow the exact steps in the guide while in-game.

It is found in the Old Hillsbrad instance in the Caverns of Time (level requirement to enter is 67-68).

First, the Caverns of Time refers to a large area, almost like a dungeon because of its entrance structure, and is located in the southeast corner of Tanaris, which is southeast of Gadzetgan. Caverns of Time is also basically the most southeastern corner of the entire Kalimdor continent. The Caverns of Time is a collection of instances, which all lead to different point in the past and are categorized by the level of how cataclysmic and destructive they were; this order is close to impertinent and won't help very much.

Before being able to enter the Old Hillsbrad instance, you will need to complete a series of listening/following quests which shouldn't take too long at all. When you find the Caverns of Time entrance, you will see a dragon (friendly though, don't worry; but don't confuse this dragon with the other dragon to the left of the path that leads to the entrance: that one will attack you) that gives you a quest. Accept it, and complete it inside. Going into Caverns of Time, you will go down a winding path and come upon a small community of armorers and food/drink vendors. Ignore them. Keep going straight until you enter a large room with a large dragon in a large circle in the middle of the room (lots of larges).

Situated around this large room are different paths leading away from the center towards various instances. I'm almost positive that most of these are instances (dungeons), but some have other uses, such as Old Hillsbrad. To complete the earlier given quest, you must talk to an NPC standing to the right of the dragon. This NPC is with another one and is what appears to be summoning, while standing in a blue void on the ground. Turn in that quest and receive the next. This quest requires you to follow an NPC who tells you all about Caverns of Time and its instances. If you actually read what it is saying, it can be very helpful and somewhat awesome. Follow it around and then complete that quest by turning it in to the same NPC you did the other one.

The Old Hillsbrad instance is, if looking at the large room and the different paths leading away to the instances from a bird's-eye-viewpoint, located northeast of the center of the large room with the dragon. If you can see the blue void on the ground to the right of the large dragon (where you turned in the quests), go to it, and go forward (north) and right a little bit and you should find a path with a city structure that leads to the Old Hillsbrad instance!

The Old Hillsbrad instance refers to, literally, Old Hillsbrad. When you enter that instance, you are ported to what looks just like Hillsbrad Foothills, and it is Hillsbrad Foothills, just a lot earlier in time. Head straight out of the instance and you will find your destination: Old Southshore. It looks almost exactly like what it does today, and the Inn should be easy to locate. Walk into the Inn, talk to the Innkeeper, and buy some Rumsey Rum Black Label! Don't be stingy or try to conserve gold for it is very cheap. I stocked up my bags and spent about 2g total.

Hope this helps!

worthless guide is worthless =/

if you were to make a guide about something useful and use that detail, it would be good

I think it is be very helpful for those who are in the same situation as me. I spent lots of time being angry because of my inability to obtain it.

A good guide for people new to twinking -- thank you, Tonka. I recommend directly linking to the Rumsey Rum in the guide, so that new twinks can mouse over and see why it's relevant in case they haven't seen the rum in use before.

Bwappo

Have you any idea how much money I will lose because of this guide? Naive Twinks are a gold mine when you go through the trouble to buy up tons of Rum and auction it!

If you think this is a gold mine you must not know good ways to make gold.

Great guide OP, I haven't ever gotten the rum myself (always had my friends do it), maybe if I level a toon I might pick some up myself instead of getting friends to do it.

Oh and btw, the rum isn't the best drink. [ITEM]Halaani Whiskey[/ITEM] is 20 stamina and available from level 1. Just get summoned to Shattrath, die, and run to Halaa when your faction is controlling it (make sure to bring gold!). Log out, log in, then rez at the healer, walk up and go to vendor to pick up the drink (Unique(3), mind you!). Not worth it for normal play since it's a long walk and Unique(3), but great for premades if you're not strict on the rules.

Joining the queue from the Halaa area = win.

Well the only negative side is that you won't have unlimited acess to the drink due to it being recapped etc.

One of the reasons I made this guide is because of people like you.

I use this all the time, but it's a pain to try and use when you can only have 3 on you at a time. People comment about it every day.

Yes. I'm almost positive, but I haven't done it in a while. PM me.

even if u don't control halaa you can take it back.

Hey guys, been a while since I've posted, but I'm still browsing the forums and twinking. I have no clue whether or not this still works. Has The Shattering fucked with the instance at all? Anyone gotten the Rum like the way my guide says to get it? If not, let me know and I'll edit it!
