With all the changes to looting and level requirements on nests and piles of dirt it looked like the firewatcher was GFd in prepatch but I found this one last method for pure trial accounts to work like a charm.
OK so I was helping a streamer get some things on his pure trial account, gems in outland and theorycrafting the MoP engineering socketed head and GI Dragonling trinket for the sockets with the cogs.
While doing this, he asked if we could go get the firewatchers oath from timeless. I had tried doing it before and had no success, he was sure he could just loot mobs. Knowing that had been fixed, I took him anyways to see if there was a workaround. I mean, with a new xpac and all the changes, it's surely worth a shot, right?
So, on a level 20 trial/f2p, no coins drop from any mobs anymore, they can't do the pet battle for the 500 coins, cannot loot the eggs or nests, I was feeling sad BUT then remembered that EVERYTHING on timeless gives coins (almost) and that I used to get coins from herbing, mining and skinning but in the last xpac the nodes had a level requirement on timeless.
Hoping they looked past or changed it, I took him to the mining trainer and then to timeless. Sure enough he was able to mine the nodes and get coins. It took about 20 min max to get his 100 coins and whallah, he got the firewatcher on his trial 20.

STEPS:
1) Talk to chromie on f2p and choose MoP timeline, go into Grommash or wherever Alliance has to go, probably SW keep, accept next quest to head out but no need to run the rest of the questline, just talk to Chromie again and goto current timeline.
2) Go through portal to MoP, by the rest of the portals in ORG underneath by the front gates or in the mage tower in SW.
3) Have a level 50 meet you there also, no need to be in party sync. Party sync will actually gimp your level 50 in party and it will have a hard time killing the mobs around the nodes on timeless isle.
4) Look up the location for the Gathering Profession trainer for your faction in Pandaria, I recommend mining but I believe skinning and herbing also will work (haven't tried them yet), and have the 50 fly you there to train Pandaria mining or whatever one you choose, no need to have a mining pick to mine the nodes anymore.
5) fly to timeless and start mining, you can actually mine the nodes without dismounting on the 2 person mount. Then, after getting 100 Timeless Coins (check your currency tab on your character to track em), go to the vendor and get the Oath. Congrats.
You can do all of this without the help of anyone else but it will take a hella lot longer of course. You can also watch the video I made if you have any questions or pst me in game or discord for any help or tips. Good luck and happy gaming. Sincerely, Somfas
