How to beat a rogue as a mage.

Frost or arcane both should be able to easily, eat opener, coc for slow if arcane start kiting and use instants, save blink for shs, try to get rogue in a nova cast poly right away he will trinket bandaid to full frostbolt him then just kite to death.
 
ok its a tough fight but spec frost and when the rogue opens on you frost nova it and then cast frost bolt then cast frost bolt again and use pet nova on the rogue while casting the 2nd frost bolt the rogue should be dead now gl
 
Kill their water elemental first. How I do it on a NE rogue is. Ambush the mage, swap to pet, kill it, and shadowmeld/restealth. Ambush again. wait for nova or blink, Shadowstep/ Evis.
 
Just a tip that you should know , remember that a rogue can't use shadowstep while rooted / novaed. So if you get him in a frost nova , the only way he can get out of it is if he trinket or if you break it early. Nova him , get a good distance and chain frostbolt + arcane barrage ... he will have to use shadowstep to get to you , this is when you use your blink and from then on you should be able to kite him.



He will most likely trinket your nova , at this point try to get a sheep on him , bandaid to full then just reset the fight, he won't have his trinket for your next nova
 
Frost mages should not have a problem killing a rogue in this bracket if they have any clue to what they are doing.

Though yea as frost , you have 2 nova so you pretty much repeat the same rotation as arcane except pure frostbolt instead of arcane barrage. You also get a 2nd nova for his trinket or incase something turns bad.
 
Ill give him something then, dont run around with your elemental summoned, call him out after the nova and then if he trinkets it, re nova his ass, GG

well thats not completely true , I beleive the CD on summon water elemental is 3 minutes and the cooldown start ticking when you summon the elemental not when he dies. So as long your summon water elemental cooldown is not on cd you can keep him up and it might even help if the rogue swap to it and kill it , you can instantly re-summon one and it will make the rogue waste time while you dps him.
 
It does. By the way, why would one suggest to summon it after the opener on the one hand, and think it can be resummoned without a CD on the other hand?
 
In my upcomming guild movie I show to lose as arcane mage to a rogue xD hah



No.. I play arcane mage, but it seems frost is better, as most stated: if u can manage to get a sheep in and he brun pvp trinket and u resheep, you pretty much got the fight won^^



U should go duel a lot of rogues, and see what works best for you:)

Not at all, you forgot some essential information that not everyone might know about shadowstep though some of what you said was true. So obviously I am gonna end up repeating it too.

First off I was just joking so chill but second I didn't say that because I didn't really feel it was necessary, it's like specifying that a hunter can't disengage while rooted.

Rogue used to be able to shadowstep while rooted , hunter were never able to disengage while rooted ... no not rly ... try agian





actually don't try again, just leave it alone unless you got more tip for the mage
 
how are mages verse other classes like hunter or a warlock(not that i will play a hunter) how would i beat a hunter there is no way i can kite him since well, he is range.
