So, my cousin law is selling his computer. I dont know ANYTHING about hardware and need some help here.

The specs he provided me with are "i7 3770k, 32 GB DDR3, 512GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD, 1 TB Samsung 850 Evo SSD, 2x 1TB 7200 RPM Western Digital HDDs, GTX 1080"

He wants $1000 for it and says hes hooking me up! I just want to make sure thats the case as $1000 is a lot of money lol.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

32 GB DDR3? just get DDR4 soon enough that Chipset will be outdated. otherwise i think it's not a bad build if that is the budget you're working with.

Its got a couple years of mild use. Do you think $1000 is a good price for it? I know the graphics card alone is around $500.

Yeah that build is easily over $1000, so I'd say it's worth it, the hardware anyways. You might need to check if there's something wrong with any of the components (maybe he spilled crap on it or something) because it's a really good deal

He told me it was a good deal. Hes a good dude just selling it out of necessity as he starts up his IT company! He told me i need to start playing other games than wow with this comp lol

More like a ~$800-900 computer but they are family and the deal would help them out so yeah worth it

I'm throwing together a computer out of spare parts that closely resembles the specs you listed. As others mentioned, $1000 is definitely a good deal for that computer, especially with that video card. The hardware is between 2-3 years old, but that computer will easily drive most games you throw at it, for awhile to come. Years down the road, the power supply will go, long before any Blizzard game dips below 120 frames a second.

Four storage drives is a little weird, but if you decide to get into recording your games, having a dedicated drive for recording is really nice.

Bottom line: that computer will bring you a lot of potential for a long time. It's way overkill for most current games.

The SSDs and video card alone are worth at least $700 used.

If you took the time to take it apart sell every part separately maybe you’ll be able to get 1k but
if this guy wasn’t a family member I’d wouldn’t pay 1k for it

Better price than buying parts yourself and much better than buying a prebuilt system.

What monitor do you have?? You really want a 144hz monitor for that system IMO or you would be wasting its power.

Im actually going to go out and pick up a monitor once i get off work! Looking in the $200-$300 range. Any suggestions? Probably gonna go to best buy as i dont know where the best place to look is.

I said it was worth it to help a family member out lol how’s that trolling? Guess you’re a little slow

Troll posting in underbelly then here on my posts. Must be bored or have a crush idk but im flattered <3

I run full ultra graphics in wow with zero lag and my PCs prebuilt was only 750$ So unless your trying to do other crazy shit, you don’t need a 1k$ pc
Oh and my monitor was 80&$ from walmart
[doublepost=1532024070,1532023999][/doublepost]Oh and I should mention the prebuilt came with a cool flashy mouse and keyboard (both which I don’t use because I have small hands and need different one for preference, but I’m sure you will find it comfortable)

nice GPU but CPU looks shit, 32GB DDR3 ram is slower then DDR4 and not sure if you ever need all the 32GB ram at once.
The 1.5GB SSD's & 2TB HDD's are pretty good for both gaming and storage.
$1000 seems like its worth it, but do you know the Mobo? i guess its kinda old build

The way it was explained to me was i can buy this and upgrade the hardware occasionally as needed or by a new prebuilt every 3 years or so

Worth well over $1000.

We need the exact model of the GTX 1080 and RAM to come to an exact price, but I'd cop.
