How did tokens work (TBC)?

If I recall correctly, you can store up to 100 tokens of each type, and you could use the tokens to buy BG gear (+honor currency). I seem to recall that you could turn in tokens for honor as well (did this give xp or rep in TBC?).

Anyone have the confirmed answers for this? Also, a summary of purchasable gear would be nice (level 60 PvP gear was purchasable, correct?).

I'm 99% sure it gave XP, at least for a while. I remember turning them in for rep 3 at a time, but that quest gave XP.

Pretty sure they filled up your mailbox if you got more than the 100 max, I dont think was all just for vanilla.

Except the only quest for TBC i can find for them was for level 70.

edit- OK, looking at https://wow.gamepedia.com/Patch_2.0.1 I guess there'll be no more quest below cap...

level 60 PvP gear was purchasable, correct?

According to this page (cant verify 100%) they were indeed for 60 PvP gear in 2.0.1: https://vanillawowdb.com/?itemset=384

on the release of patch 2.0.1 these will no longer require a pvp rank but instead you will use Honor Points and Battleground Marks as a form of currency to purchase the items.

Looking at this, I guess there is a quest to turn in one mark from each BG type for honor, but since that includes EotS, that wouldn’t work for leveling BG’s: https://www.wowhead.com/quest=8367/for-great-honor

I’m trying to recall for leveling BGs if it was more of an effort to acquire the tokens or the honor component to buy WSG/AB gear. Also, I seem to recall that level 60 PvP set was only acquirable for the early part of TBC.

I'm pretty sure they're still available in retail now? The epic ones, anyway. The blue ones might have ended with 2.0.1.

I think i have like 2 pieces somewhere, I'll take a look at em and dig a little. Did they leave with the classic PvP titles?

Yeah, I guess it was only classic with the 3 marks. I didnt think I was recalling that, but it was so long ago. Sorry.

I really think the scarcer part of purchases was the honor, PvP marks just overflowed your mailbox if you played a lot.

edit- So as to the level 58 PvP blue gear, the best I could find was comments on wowhead from 2.1 still talking about buying them for honor, I guess that confirms they were still around for 2.0... and they also talked about just getting the epic pieces instead so I guess both were just honor.

I dont know why I would bother keeping the couple I have, that being the case tho. Or why I didnt just honor out the set.

Ha, I was just going to post that link.

So yes, the Season 1 level 70 honor gear uses the level 60 armor graphics. Players can also acquire the level 60 gear for honor and marks.

And yes, I now remember that marks were easier to acquire than honor and I basically used the excess to acquire the PvP mounts as a sub end game player.
